Just want you all to know that you all are freaking nuts!!!! I read all the conversations and some things just dont change. God it's been a long time. Joe, Congrats man, gotta love the military heroes!! As far as the mustang on the 50yd line, Bronco or Mustang, it doesnt matter, we just need something BAD ASS on the field, it's the colors Im worried about. Have you seen the god aweful color they used on the Gym floor. THAT ISNT PURPLE.

Andy,

Glad you decided to stop being a voyeur and post a comment here. Jeff Brewer has done an admirable job of trying to locate people and encourage them to participate. If that fails, I find it very effective to spread rumors, half truths and post questionable photos to spark friendly discourse on this forum. However for the record, everything I said about Imai and Barrueta's basketball playing abilities is true. And despite what the photos imply, Alvarez is not gay or a drunk. He is just a happy social drinker that likes to kiss people while they sleep.

Cant say much about Alvarez but I've played BBall with Imai, Andrew we need to talk!! Remember that monsoon we played in at Andress. That was an awesome football game.

Rik Avalos

Andy, how the hell are you? Great seeing you on here. How is the family and the kids?

By the way, I do remember the monsoon we played at Andress and if I remember correctly, that was our sophomore year... unless ther was another monsoon the following two years. Additionally, I actually got to play in that game. I think the permanent scar of humiliation has kept that deep within my memory banks, because even though we won, I couldn't get over the fullback and pulling guard running me over on a sweep, when I did get the chance to get in the game. :)

All is well with me and the Family. Oldest is a varsity Cheerleader at Burges. Yes, the monsoon was sophmore year. how the hell are you??

Those are great pics from the Olive Garden. It is good to see familiar faces.
Andy, it has been a life my friend. How is your brother doing?? How bout Rick Velasco, do you speak to him much?? Again for all that are here, cant wait to see you all Thursday.

Rik Avalos

As soon as we get back to San Diego, the wife will work on booking you at her family's joint!! That picture makes me remember the keggers at Hector Cano's house when we played to the "captive" audience!! Good times!!

07/02/08 01:13 AM #487

Rik Avalos

Mr. Santos, I remember those parties... Hector Cano's party (seriously, I had heard that he had passed away, is that true?) and then we did another party with Halo and another band. That was the coolest, when Dokken, Scorpions, "Roudness" and Iron Maiden were king! LOL

Please tell your wife, thanks for the opportunity. :)

Liz, Ray, Becky and the pitcher of Sangria:

It was great to see you all at Olive Garden today. Marbles, sorry I missed you and I would have loved to see you. Man the stories, the thinking out loud and the toy stories, those were good. Thanks for allowing me to join you all and now I have more memories. Ray can you email me the pic and Becky send me yours too please, seeligppl@yahoo.com.

The pitcher of Sangria, thanks for the relaxation and thanks for the fast pulse you gave me. Because of that I couldn't donate blood today. Darn, I will try again tomorrow. No Liquor Left Behind right girls? LOL.

I will be attending Thursday nights events though I have to work, so what time is everybody meeting at? Is there a cover charge? I need details. Please help me out. Thanks again.

Elizabeth Abilez (Abilez)

The olive garden was great! All should keep "the no alcohol left behind act" in mind as the responsible adults we are;). I am the one holding the baby. She is my baby girl who is going to b 4 months. Somebody should of told me about my hair! I rarely come out nice in pictures. But really Thanks Ray for taking them and putting them up! The drinks girls hit the spot!

So please listen up!I am going to hopefully go Thursday and start a silent auction which is a preview of the silent auction we are planning to have Saturday night of the reunion labor day weekend. I have licensed NFL jackets, caps, a few jerseys, cups that you freeze and then add your beverage of choice, and many numerous things. I even have some things for the motorcyclists of our gang. All of these items will be donated by me in rememberance of my dad,Mr.Abilez(faculty in memory). After he retired he sold these items and now there are left for me. SO FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOING THURSDAY, give me a few NFL teams that you are interested in and I will post what will be for the silent auction FOR THURSDAY.
For those who are going to be here for the reunion same to you guys so I can get together with the committee as to what to put out for the silent auction. This money goes to a scholarship for Burges.

I have a survey question---who has been on tv? I was on the local news when I called KVIA in the mid 90's to bring attention to the viewers of how the city of El Paso was going to put a lien on my then house if I did not clean up the area behind my house and pay a $50 bill. Needless to say with the help of KVIA, the city had numerous calls from the area I lived in and put a stop to all liens and they cleaned up the area.
I was also on KVIA morning show for winning a contest. I was the only viewer who answered the question right so I WON! I won the show being done at my house, a top restaurant chef made breakfast, and me my kids got to see all the behind scenes and were on tv! It was great!
Rik, I have a strong feeling you have been on tv.

Andrew Imai

Hey there Andy! Good to see you on the forum. Hope everything is going well with you and the family. It certainly has been a long time going all the way back to our days at Hughey. Remember the days back at Ross when you would provide the weekly entertainment for the whole school by taking on and fighting that giant (at the time) German transfer student Dirk (I forgot his last name). Those were classic fights...

Mario: what can I say? Where's the love, mijo? The only Andrew and Michael team where you MIGHT POSSIBLY win a basketball game would be against your two sons...but based on your actual game and having played against you, my money would certainly be on your sons... :) You need to use your talent of fishing out people and get Wheaties to logon...

Hi Liz,

I was on promoting L'Bel last summer it was a four segment interview on ABC in the bay area... Does that count?

Hey Andrew, I remember that fight well. Dam, there were alot of them. The family is great. We shoud all hook up and have a football or bball game some day. How is your family?

07/02/08 02:09 PM #494

Lisa C. Cardenas (Herrera)

Hey Liz,

I was on Channel 9 sport news back in the day, when I worked for tim hardaway Camp.

How bout auctioning off some Cowboy Stuff?

07/02/08 02:34 PM #495

Edna Dominguez

Liz,

I was usually behind the camera, rolling tape or pushing buttons behind the scenes.

I'm all for the Pittsburgh Steelers!

07/02/08 04:19 PM #496

Andrew Imai

Hey Andy: My family is also doing well, thanks. As for a football or b-ball game, that sounds cool. I think Adriana had mentioned having some type of sports activities during family day. But if we do have a b-ball game, don't count on Mario because he never brings any type of game with him... :)

Liz: Several months ago, I was involved in an investigation that led to the arrest of a prominent local public official. The media had a field day with it and it got a lot of exposure and at times it still pops up in the news. Years ago, James Valdez, James' father, Mike Barrueta, and I were on a beer commercial...it was pretty funny...Mike or James, What was the name of that beer?

Jeff: How are we doing on the Wheaties alert? What about John Welsh? Any word from him?

Hi Guys good to see the forum is going strong and Andy, not my cuz, glad you joined us!!

Just a little info for those that have asked: Aceituna's is located at 200 Doniphan, and has no cover ($5) before 8:30, there will be many drink specials all night mostly $1.75. And there will be a reggae/rock band playing.

So long story short will we all be able to catch a good buzz before or after 8:30 and dance the night away to some reggae!! Looking forward to seeing all of you!

As far as TV appearances, hopefully that will never happen to me. Newscasters in Florida love to make education look bad. As an assistant principal at an elementary school, I hope to stay out of the limelight. I have only been threatened by parents to take me to the news. However, my boys and husband have been on ESPN. My husband did a commercial for a baseball video game (cartoon-type). My 9 year old was an extra yesterday on a commercial for Friendly Restaurants. He made $100 - his first paycheck (not bad for a 9 year old).

(For those who do not remember me, Dan has a picture of me on his profile.)

Patsy: how are you? Its been awhile. Hows the family?

Andrew: We gotta do something and put the story between you and loya to rest. Just saw your nephew, guess Patsy's cuz as well, Gregory, the firefighter. He donates platelets here with us. He says Hi.

As for the TV thing, I did a spot on KCOS about blood and platelet donations and the importance to the community especially with the children with cancer.

Ok everyone, I think it would be fun posting with a pic from 88... Because in all honesty, it is great getting to know many of you on here but I didn't know too many of you and in turn most of you are probably wondering who I am... I am above Dominic. Photobucket
