Remember back in the day when English, Reading and Writing were all one class? I remember I got a U in deportment for flirting with Alice Jordan. That was six swats! I remember asking Coach Kemp why we got two swats for 'U's and only one if we were failing a class... he said "...you can always be having trouble in school, but a "U" just means you're being an a$$hole..." GREAT Becky, how were we being bad? Mike, Ray and I chaired the Cher fan club secretly while at Burges. Mike really wanted it to be fully dedicated to Tiffany, but he was out voted because he could never stop humming "i think we're alone now". Alma, had a really, really great time! Thanks so very much for hanging out with me. I actually got myself a gig the next day at Maggie McGarry's, which was just freaking awesome. Anyway, you look absolutely fab! Rik

Lisa, Coach Jesse Kemp was the black coach that was built like a freakin' brick house! Wore glasses. I tell you what, I do believe that those guys had a profound effect on me with regards to the discipline I would need later on for sure. Who remembers Ms Muro at Ross?? She was the sh*#!!! Back then anyway.

She's now a counselor at Burges, isn't that crazy!!!! Man you weren't lying about Coach Kemp, he had a body from hell, but he was a huge disciplinary. What about Tolentino? He was cool, Coach Morales, the best on our side was Coach, man I went blank, Gloria, oh Gloria, who was our coach when we won 1st place in all sports in 8th Grade? Anyway, that was cool too.

Just when you think you can't take it, I find a lot of their words from memory egging me on. They were tough on us, but I wouldn't have had it any other way. Becky, just ribbin' each other on our cheesy musical tastes. In fact, I'm sure like the movie 'Tommy Boy' we all have our secret "Just call me Angel" song that we won't listen to in front of anyone else.

Even my teeth hurt. I keep thinking if only i could have some Chicos. That would cure it. Whatever happened to the days when I would go out all night and go to work drunk and sweating alcohol and keep going all day. I'm not as young as i used to be:(

07/25/08 08:43 PM #748     Adriana Fernandez Hey Becky, the Mac Arthur kids were pretty kool. They accepted this "hood rat" from Segundo Barrio just fine. I mixed it up with some of the Ross girls and fended quite well I might add. It was nice that we were all able to eventually meet and become just Burges Mustangs. For all you Ross athletes that remember Coach Kemp. I had to deal with his better half at Guillen in 7th grade and she swung a pretty mean paddle. It was either that or 50 laps around the gym. I must say I made the wrong choice..........

Kid as far as Willy Tolentino, if I did not speak of him it is truly because he was the closest thing to a father that I had growing up. Do you know that he showed up for our grad in 88. That man tought me so much... I hear he is a principal now. All together, we did balance out right at Burges!!

I remember very well. Hell I remember when we played you all. Lisa, yes I remember that funky lady Fishbreath...lol. Anyhow, she didn't have a good sports backing it was Fields that did. Kid, Tolentino was an awesome man. Do you remember Ms. Welch? One funny lady.
