Angel, that is sad to hear about Coach Kemp and Mrs. Bryson, wasn't her name like Zula Bryson? As far as Feefee, he is awesome and has a awesome memory as you do cuz i would have never thought of those teachers if you hadn't mentioned them. There is one teacher that I cannot remember her name but she was the French teacher at Burges and she was awesome. Anyhow, i'm all for another get together sometime soon. Just let me know.

What up Ebody!! Since were on Ross memory lane, Here are two. Once I jumped out the window in Bryson's class. to distract her from her desk, So that we can change grades on her stupid "stand up and say a poem". So then, Derek(from Germany) got a demerit for yelling, that I had jump out, on top of that Mrs Bryson corrected his English: "He fell not fall". I came back in after I heard everybody laughing. Another time in 9th During lunch time We got drunk in Javi Zamora older brother's van(Danny). It was Javy,Rudy Murphy (cricket-noiseman),David Herrera, Eddie Quinones, Julian Cervantes and Myself oh yeah and Freddy Aguillar. We decided to take a shot-no glass, pass it to the next and we wernt going to stop till it was done.. well after lunch Me David Rudy and Freddie had P.E. with fishbreath and we were goin to get time for the half circuit (thru the rocks) we made it. But in the locker room, Freddy mistaken his shoe with the toilet, you'll know what happen next. .....I was willing to help, but surrendered when he proceeded to put both his shoes. GAG. Laters See you in Mr.V's I said. Oh yeah, another great teach-Mr.Villanueva "Mi Viejo" passed on about 5or6 - cancer. HE WAS THE FOUNDATION OF MY ART SKILLS.

The other French teacher at Burges was Ms. Delgado. She taught Spanish and French...

About Mr. Kemp; Funny memory only our Ross football team will remember - Joe, do you remember when I was supposed to hike the ball between his legs to the halfback and instead hiked the football into Coach Kemp's nuts? LOL I think he wanted to kill me! That memory cracks me up. That's really sad to hear that he's serving jail time... and I was really bummed to hear that Mr. Yoshida is dead too.

Take this as a lesson kiddos, life is freaking way too short and very fragile, have a good time, live with no regrets (if you don't like life, change it) keep those relationships together, buckle up and let bad memories and grudges go out the window. It's not worth it. Be happy! We can go at any time. I had a friend who recently died while jogging. In the best of shape, didn't drink (maybe that's why), didn't smoke and was a gym rat... just went running and in mid step, fell down dead with a massive heart attack.

Rik, DUDE!!! I just remembered that! I cant stop laughing. I remember he took off his glasses and all cause he was crying!! My God that was funny!!

Sorry to hear about your buddy Rik. Believe me, I know how short life can be!

Lisa C. Cardenas (Herrera)

Sergio- I remember that! I was in that class when you did that. Does anybody remember Mrs. Straus and Mr. Greenwood? I found a yearbook from Ross. It was our 7th grade year!! Next pre reunion I'll have it with me

Angel Mauricio Martinez

Joe,
You know what...he STILL does smack his lips, and you know what everyone, these teachers have found the fountain of youth...he looked exactly the same!! They do not seem to age one bit!! You know, what...he actually mentioned to me that his...and get this...WIFE!!! had died of cancer, many years back. I always figured he was just...well gay.-not that there is anything wrong with that!!!!
Hey Chris, I had Mrs. Gravalos, and poor old lady, I drove her nuts. It was my senior year, as a matter of fact and well I just took French, for the extra credit. And well, I just gave her hell! I wonder if she's still alive. A friend of mine and I..a freshman at the time, would call her Yoda, just to be assholes! I do remember the teachers you mentioned Lisa, but I just never had them as teachers. DId u guys hear about what happened to our beloved, assistant principal, Corodova!! He is also doing some serious time, in prison for stealing money from the schools....go figure, this is coming from the same guy that sent my friend, Cecilio Saucedo,(I know most of u remember him).. home for dressing up as Angus Young!!!! Mr....."...fellows, hey fellows...u need to be straight as an arrow...in life" and I quote!!
OH! and by the way the show just kicked ass!!! I have seen MOTLEY CRUE, many times, and well they always put on one hell of a show....LOUDER THAN HELL!!And yes Lisa, I did take pictures, and a few video clips. I will email them to you!!
SO WE'LL SEE U ALL AT LISA'S PLACE!!! RIGHT????????????
Oh, I almost forgot! Yes, Chris, Mrs. Bryson's name is Zula. Mr. FEEFEE mentioned to me, that he never really understood why she was even teaching, because according to him, she was loaded, she came from a very, very wealthy family. Go figure, and yet she put up with all out stunts, right Sergio???

Melissa,
You don't know how much I miss Chicos. I haven't had Chicos in a about a year and I need my fix. As soon as I get to El Paso that is the first place I'm going.
Michael

07/29/08 09:25 AM #787

Melissa Mendez (Thompson)

I know what you mean Michael… it’s an addiction. No one outside of El Paso quite understands this “chicos scandal”! Just keep telling yourself soon, very very soon.

Joe, I was able to retrieve the glorious pics of chicos because I am part of a very special and unique club ha ha… on Facebook, there is a “you know your from El Paso group” that you can join. There are many pics of popular memories like the star on the mountain, the letters on the mountain, and many others… but of course there are many pics of chicos too~

It is such a small world… I was talking to our Director of Incentives where I work and his sister lives in El Paso. Do any of you remember the Pershing Theatre? I think I saw 95 percent of all movies there in my youth. Well anyhow, his sister is an artist she lives IN the Pershing Theatre… wild hah? She also owns “Rocket Boots” in El Paso they are the ones who make Cher’s boots and stuff (see Ray, Mike, and Rik I got you a connection ha ha). The world truly is 6 degrees of separation!

07/29/08 11:08 AM #788

Mike Grijalva

Thanks Melissa, I'm all about boots. lol

07/29/08 11:20 AM #789

Jose Santos

Melissa, I remember going to dollar movies there as a small kid. It was a cool little theater because I could actually walk there during summer!! Damm that takes me back!!

Angel, I thought the same thing about Mr Pfeifl!!!! Too light footed but hey... the world goes round and round!!

07/29/08 11:31 AM #790

Andrew Imai

Hey Mike B: You must be having some bad Chicos cravings if you are writing about them at midnight. If it makes you feel better, I had some last Saturday and yeah, they were pretty damn good! I thought after our rematch with Mario and Wheaties the loser would have to buy but I guess that won't happen because it looks like Mario isn't going to make it and we are still waiting for Wheaties to make his grand entrance...Where is Mario anyway ?!? [crickets chirping in the background]

Chris, Rik, Joe, Lisa: It is funny to hear you mention all those teachers and memories from Ross. How about the Math teacher Mr. James and the way he would spaz out when the class got disruptive; Ms. Geary, she was pretty cool; Coach Lewinski, didn't he also go on to coach at Burges? Lisa, let me take a look at that yearbook from Ross so I can refresh my memory on some of the other teachers and laugh...Also, I believe Coach Ernie Watts from Ross is the current prinicpal at Burges...

07/29/08 01:30 PM #791

Jose Santos

Andrew, Mr James used to literally break down!! I cant believe I have not mentioned Mrs Geary!! She was awesome...thank you Andrew.

07/29/08 02:40 PM #792

Lisa C. Cardenas (Herrera)

Joe- the yearbook i mentioned was dedicated to Mrs. geary.
Do you remember Coach LaRoach?

07/29/08 02:47 PM #793

Mario Loya

Imai, aqui estoy! Why don't you use your detective skills and locate Nalgas for us? Just run him through the system to get his last known address.

Bart, the only thing you and your idol Sir Charles have ever had in common is middle-of-the-night cravings for food.

07/29/08 03:40 PM #794

Rik Avalos

Melissa, thanks for the connection on Cher's boots, we've been looking everywhere... By the way, my band will be playing in your neck of the woods on Saturday in Walnut Creek. We'll be at Dan's - hope you can stop by!

Joe, I do remember Coach Kemp taking his glasses off, walking in circles, he grabbed me like he might actually kick my ass, but then let me go... maybe because he knew my Dad was a cop. LOL

Lisa, I'd be very interested in finding out how Coach LaRoche was. He was one of my favorite coaches and teachers even though most people didn't care for him too much. I remember he had some serious health issues back when we were in school... I wonder if he's still around?

Now one last Ross reference here... the one teacher I despised was Mr. Greenwood. I hated that guy... Through no fault of my own (alphabetical seating), I had to sit next to Linda Arenivar and Michelle Contreras and I always got busted talking in his class and had to stay after school! Couldn't the guy help a brother out knowing I was sitting next to two hotties. :)

Andrew, wow you mentioned Coach Lewinski, Mr. James and Mrs. Geary, I was just thinking about her the other night. She was nice as hell but a witch at the same time. Did you all know that Coach Lewinski is Chuck's uncle. I had Chucks mom in Elementary school at Clardy she was my 4th and 5th grade math teacher. I knew Chuck before I really met him at Ross. See I was like Adriana I was a transplant but I was transplanted from Henderson to Ross. BIG change.

Joe, you were right Mr. James would shake and go out of his mind when things would go wrong. Hilarious.

I know you all are right when you say Mr. Watts is the Principal at Burges now. I knew I knew him from somewhere.

As far as Mr. Cordova Angel, I think that man was stalking me.....j/k He was my Asst. Principal at Henderson and then we get to Burges and there he is again. SCARY!!!

OK, so here's the deal, I've talked to several of you and I've been told that Lisa's house may be uncomfortable to many since some of you all didn't know her. First of all, she is COOL. Second, I can understand going to a strange house. Here's the solution, why don't we all decide on a date (Aug 9 or 10) and a centralized location for a lunch or dinner. It could be just for us, it could be a family event (Peter Piper on Airway), or it could be for drinks. Let us hear what you want.

Lorena, get the pen and paper and let's start tabulating.

Mario,

I second your motion about Detective Imai using his powers that be and locate one "Bundinetta"!!!

Andrew, I would love to see that game materialize so it seems that a certain big guy needs to be present for us to see this game happen between "all y'all"!

Melissa Mendez (Thompson)

Thanks Rik for the invite… you will be very close by. I will be sure to tell my friends who live there about it. I however have a car pickup the following morning at 5:30am for a flight to New Orleans… otherwise I would definitely would be there front and center. I will have much more time after returning home from New Orleans because things are super crazy here. I have a mission to see you play before the reunion. See, some people save whales or forests… I on the other hand have bigger goals lol.

Andrew and Mario,

I ran into Ray Chavira last week. I guess he manages Big Lots on Montana. He says that Coronado goes in the store all the time and that they stay in touch. Andrew maybe you can give Ray a visit for that info. (on one of your donut runs.........I mean while on patrol) lol ha-ha

Chris,
you know what, I never really thought about that...maybe some of u might feel awkward going to someone's home. So, your idea sounds great. Maybe we CAN just do it at a pizza place, or something along the lines. I would be great if we can actually make it happen.

07/30/08 11:03 AM #800

Maribel Olmos

To all: We are in Crunch Time!!! We have less than a month for our event and still have many ends to tie. An e-mail will be sent out next week with further details of each event. We are also starting to take orders thru this site for the Memory DVD ($16) that will be of the 20th Reunion.

Does any one have a HAPPY’s ID (our Juarez Fake ID)? Please let me know.
