The first time that I left Irvin was to attend grad school at the University of Oklahoma. I returned to teach and advise publications for two more years and then left to teach journalism and do public relations work for Odessa College.
From there I went to Angelo State University where I served in a variety of positions from head of the Journalism Department, Assistant to the President, Vice President for University Relations, and Interim President. In all, I was at Angelo State for 37 years.
