Hi Ellen,

Thanks. Yes, I found it soon after I submitted the post.

Frank, my check went out this morning.

On the upside 7 checks came in this afternoon so we are at 60 paid, with a few more additional classmates saying they are coming. On the downside one cannot make it due to an ill spouse ( there are a few of us in that spot) and one I must have wrongly added to the list. It is not too late to reach out to your long lost pal, or to that person you've been wondering about for 50 years or whatever. Think about giving them a call- whatever their plans ( but encourage them to come!) I promise you will at least have a great conversation if you do. Now's a good time, and we are not getting any younger. If you need contact info, maybe we can help. See you all soon.

All -  Please make sure you you have my correct email address,- Frankrgervasi@gmail.com - or better yet FrankRGervasi. My namesake with the address Frank.Gervasi was nice enough to refund  Marina's, Monica's, and Randy's paypal payments. So mystery solved on that score. Thank goodness for honest people. But again, please be careful with that. Thanks.

This has been an extremely difficult decision for me to make.  But, unfortunately, I will not be attending the reunion.  The date, October 20th, had been selected for my grandsons birthday party before I found out that a 50th class reunion was going to occur.  I have asked if they could consider changing the date for the birthday party but apparently there are several conflicting activities that will not permit a change in that date.

So, I had to continually consider an immediate family (4 sons, 3 daugther-in-laws and 6 grandchildren) get togehter against a class reunion.  And in my mind I was thinking that the Class of 68 that I/we belonged to was also somewhat of a family and it would be great to see that family again.  But at the end I feel as though I have to choose my immediate family.  Sorry.

Please have a great time together.  Share some great memories, stories and hopefully have quite a few laughs togehter.  Perhaps you might remember things that happened in Mr. Geiles Social Studies class, Miss Hasselbrack's Math class or Mr. Ohriner's ("Mr. O") Physics class.  Or maybe even Mr. Bongiorno's Gym class.

And for my baseball teammates - hit it big!

To All, Have a Great Time!!

Thank You again Frank for all your hard work and efforts to plan and excute our 50th Reunion !  I have contacted directly Daniel Patrey , and unfortunately he is unable to attend . I am also sad that Mitch Bohn and Susan Baum Schloss will not make it . I agree with Roy and Frank that it is still not too late to reach out and contact others that are unaware of our gathering . Keep trying .

Hi John  Sorry to hear you cannot come, it would have been nice to see you. One question- do you still play baseball or softball?

How about we start hearing from more people who are coming to the reunion! I am driving down from Maine & about really excited to tell old stories; hear old stories and have a ton of laughs. I still remember the last reunion after it officially ended and many of us went to the hotel bar. Jake, you had us all in stitches and I remember some of the stories that can't be repeated here. What do you remember from our last reunion if you were there? Can't wait til the 20th!!!!!

Greetings ~ My husband Al and I are flying in from S. Carolina and hoping to see as many classmates as possible! Sincere sentiments have been expressed from people attending, and others whose situations are making the date or the travel difficult. Several have spoken of "family committments" interfering with the Reunion weekend. We are a group who grew on continuing to value and respect those dear to us and that has come through in the postings... If there is anyone else who could possible get there, or needs some help to accomplish this I would love for them to reach out and not give up!  Be well, all! ~ Ginger

If anyone recalls any chants, cheers or songs, please post or message me.  Frank is sure we had a school song, but no one seems to know it!  Perhaps the cheerleaders will make a comeback!

I just get in touch with JoAnn DiLeo and she is in Europe and will try to change plans to come.  She wants to know if she can pay late.  Frank I had your number but somehow dropped out of my contacts.  Please call me if you have a chance.

A room at Danford's just opened up. They drop back into general rental at this point so if anyone needs a room for Saturday night call them right away.

Bruce - Thanks for contacting Danny Patrey.  It's a shame he can't come to the reunion.

I heard back from Vivian Fede, but she is unable to attend.  I never heard back from Debbie Glasco.

Has anyone spoken to Sabra Nalven?  I know she was sorry she missed the last reunion and was looking forward to the next.

Also, has anyone kept in touch with Laura Starito?

10/04/18 11:18 AM #1111

Roy Rosenberg

Sabina - I sent 2 letters to Laura Starito (Eusini) at 2687 Bayview Avenue-Merrick NY. Neither were returned to me so I assume she got them. Each had complete reunion info; my tel # and Frank's e-mail address. No reply from either letter.

Re: Sabra (now Barbara) - I sent her a message thru the class web e-mail system but didn't hear anything back. If someone has a tel # for her, I'd gladly call her. Would love to see her!!!

I have tried to contact so many people. So if anyone wants to know about someone, ask here and if I have any info I'll pass it along.

I LOVE this last minute effort to contact classmates. Great work and let's keep it up!!!!!

Another update for what it's worth. I just got so ticked off that I couldn't find Sabra Nalven (now Barbara Gribin) or Laura Starito (Eusini) that I redoubled my on line efforts. I found what I believe are good tel #s for each and just left messages. I hope to hear back from both. I've also been in touch with Eddie Meslin who gave me an indication that he wanted to come. So I just left a phone message for him to.

Does anyone think I'm becoming obsessed with this. No! Just want to see as many classmates as possible.

Thanks, Roy.  I too tried to contact Sabra through the class website with no luck.  I used to have her phone number in Ft. Myers.  I'll look around to see if I still have it.  The last time I spoke to her was a few  years ago when we drove over to the east coast of Florida to have lunch with some of our classmates.  Thanks too for trying to get in touch with Laura.  At least we tried!

I am in touch with Sabra “Barbara” nalven Griben     She knows about the reunion and is not able to attend due to a variety of reasons including traveling, a second home in another state etc.

Frank,

I played a lot of baseball and slow pitch softball but no, I have not played either on in a few years.  Kind of took up walking after I was challenged by one of my sons who gave me his old fit-bit.  I average about 16,000 steps a day.  I guess I could still run around the bases though since..if I can still walk.

One last mention of this - if any guy is still on the fence about coming & is wondering at this late date where he would stay, I have a room in the hotel with 2 beds. You can crash with me.

Lastly, great talking on the phone in recent days with among others:

     Sabra Nalven/Barbara Gribin

     Laurie Malcolm

     Judi Bach

     Bruce Meierdiercks

     Paul Rosenberg

     Eddie Meyers

     Gil Berke

We worked hard in school (or at least that's what I remember) but we also had a lot of fun!!!! 10/20 will be great!

Does anyone have copies of our school newspaper the Oracle?  Will you bring them?  Pictures from our time in Elmont?  We had an awesome class-eg. Jan Oxenberg, your film and TV pilots-I would love to see them-Joanne, I am bringing a beautiful picture of you from 1967.  I feel like I am beginning to a cliche-half a century? Wow.  Let's start to think about what we want in the time we have left.  I feel lucky to be able to have the honor of aging. The alternative sucks!
