I met Stu on my first day of Kindergarden at Gotham Avenue and we were best friends from that moment on.  He was funny, smart and one of the best guitar players I ever knew.  Just before his passing he was playing his Les Paul in his bedroom as his wife was getting ready.  They were on their way to a concert.  He had a massive aneurism and he died instantly.  He was the kind of friend that even if you hadn't been in touch for years, when you called (or he called) it was like you had just seen each other yesterday.  There was plenty to talk about, joke about and plan.  We spoke only a few months prior to Stu's death and he and his wife were planning on visiting us at our home in Maui and were working on dates when she called me with the news.  A very sad day.  I will miss my friend and think of him often.   - Walt Kubiak
