Personal Comments

Military was a fantastic experience. It opened up a whole new world to me outside of automotive. I still ended up in Automotive, but learned a wealth of knowledge. God bless our troops, and God Bless America!!

Personal Comments  I think I wanted to go in the Air Force since I was about 12 or 13. I used to go with Chris Lenover's Dad and family to the air show every year in Peoria. Then, I thought it was a great way to go to college to learn about computers. Well, I didn't go to college other than taking some CLEP tests for Spanish, but the Air Force was the BEST experience of my life! One time I even met up with Jason Garkey at West Point when he was still a student there and we went to the Army football game. I travelled to about 15 different countries while working in communications. When I was stationed in Panama I worked for an Army 4-star General and provided personal communications for him, so wherever he went our communications team went. We were in Washington D.C. about once a month and one trip I was in Gen. (Ret.) Colin Powell's office at the Pentagon when he was Chairman of the Joint Chief's of Staff. I still miss it to this day. The military isn't for everyone, but I am glad that I a part of it!!! Thank you to everyone that thank the Veterans!

Personal Comments I enjoyed my time in the Air Force, but don't regret getting out.  Being an AF wife, I still get all the good parts without the parts I didn't like - like the uniform and the annual running test - hate running!  I was proud to serve in uniform, but I'm just as proud to be the support at home for my husband.

Serving in the military has been a great life experience and I love living my dream of being a pilot in the military. So far I have flown 5 different jets for the Air Force and have so many awesome (and scary) experiences to be that old grandpa talking to my future grandkids about my glory days:). Serving has also introduced me to so many great friends and it really makes you appreciate the diversity and freedoms we have in America. I have traveled the world and their is no other place I would want to live and raise a family than in America. If anyone has children or friends considering joining the military I would be happy to discuss options with them.

Comments The military is providing alot of opportunities to learn a new trade and duty overseas really makes you realize how lucky we have it. But all in all I wouldn't go back to living in small town USA, if I had to. I have learned a lot, and its great to be out of Eureka.
