Rachel was born in Salina, Kansas, in 1970. She had a brain tumor removed at the age of 5 months. Doctors ascertained that she must have had the tumor at birth, thus she was truly a "cancer survivor" her entire live.
During her junior year, a second brain tumor was found. For the next eight years, Rachel went through surgery and all the cancer treatments available to her.
Following graduation from high school in 1989, Rachel worked as a veterinarian assistant at Teegarden Veterinary Clinic. After surgery in 1993, she was employed at J&J Cleaners in Eureka.
Rachel always had a twinkle in her eye, a laugh that came from the heart, and a joy of being with people.

I sat next to Rachel for 8 years during band....I can't hear a march or a pep band song without thinking of you, Rachel!Kim Mullins (Landmark)
I remember Rachel's laugh and smile!Renae Edwards (Dietrich)
Rachel and I were best friends in grade school. The teachers would get us mixed up and we loved it. I'll always remember her slumber party in the camper by her house. We played truth or dare and I laughed until I cried. I won't say who did what...but I'm sure if you were there, you remember.May the Lord continue to be with her family as they watch the rest of us grow up.
