Michale Guilford (Junker)

Good morning everyone. Happy be-lated Fathers day to you dads. Well we just finished with a 30 minute storm. I don't know where it came from. Left home humid and sunny got to work and scary. Looked like a wall cloud and the clouds were so....dark almost black. Fortunately is was just heavey rain and wind. Not anything good for a wheat field by any means. Sun is coming out again. It is to get up to 100 today. It is so humid, I was dripping wet trying to get ready for work.

Glad to hear a few of you got together in F-town.Got a minute to talk to some of you. Sounds like you all had a great time. The Chuckles probably won't be the same. lol

Well it's a Monday, better get at it. Wishing you all a great day.

Good Morning, Hope all of you are doing well... Got up early this morning hoping to help a guy pour a concrete patio, but we had another storm blow over @ 1:30 this morning....Talk about wind, whew, haven't seem it like that for awhile, been about town and seem some branches down but no trees blown over...

See a few people made it to F-town over the weekend, sounds like a good time was had... Morgan and I talked about coming down for the Ark. St./Ne game and the Fairbury game Sept 11-12. Then we found out it's homecoming here Sept. 11, still thinking about taking off after homecoming and trying to make Ne. football and would like to catch volleyball game Sunday... Anyway it's still in the planning process...

Hey, gardeners. need some help here, darn bunnies are eating the heck out of my green beans, keep eating them off to the ground...Tried to thin them out but my garden is close to an old junk yard (mating ground for rabbits). Last year put wire mesh over it until they were big enough, but thats such a pain...

Have a bright sunny, happy, and great day!!!

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good morning classmates...It is going to be another hot and humid day...:( Today is the big day...Going to get a sample to see where we stand on the wheat harvest...On your marks, get set , GO.....Everyone is on the edge pretty much....I always hate the start and first couple days...Seems like it takes that long to get things running smoothly...Makes for a grumpy crew...WHEW...I just wing it and let everything go in one ear and out the other...Keeps me out of trouble that way....

KEILWITZ...Nice seeing you on here...These darn storms seem to be really hitting somewhere all the time...YOU ARE ASKING FOR GARDEN HELP FROM THIS CLASS??? I think you came to the wrong place...Nippler can't even grow maters...and he grows asparagus...YUCK.....Little
Buddy don't share much about his gardening, so that is not a good sign....But all kidding aside....I seen in a ad at True Value that they some kind of spray to keep the rabbits away...I don't think it killed them, but they wouldn't like the smell...Don't know about spraying it around produce, but it might be something to check into....I have also heard of people putting moth balls in their flowers, because of rabbits....Don't know if any of this works but I guess it is an idea....Have a great day...HUGSSSS

Nippler...KEILWITZ needs your 2 cents worth on the whole rabbit thing...I'm sure you have some good advice for him...Maybe he would even share his maters with you....That may be the only way you get any maters...LOL...Why do you put up with me???...please answer...LOL...Was hoping to see you on last night, but of course you weren't missing you...have a wonderful day...HUGSSS

Little Buddy....Okay I'm anxious to see what you and Nippler have to say on the whole rabbit deal...Maybe he could trap them and we could have some rabbit stew...Oh this could be a fun subject...I hope the classmates get involved in this one...Have a great day....Missing you already...HUGSSSS

Sweet Pea...Are you caught up yet??? Oh it is a never ending story around here...Lisa is coming home tonight to help with harvest...I love having my kids home, but when you get use to only cooking, cleaning, and laundry for 2 people and all of a sudden you have 4...It makes a big difference...I'll make it, I always do...Just have to get into a different routine...LOL...Don't really know if I have a routine and if I do, it sure gets changed a lot...You know what I mean...LOL...two peas in a pod....Love you and miss you.....HUGSSSSSS

Wishing all of you a great day....Keep cool.....

Behind every sucessful woman.....is a basket of dirty laundry......

AMEN

OMG....I just about forgot a very important thing.....

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY, ROE!!!!!!

Wishing you many more....Have fun on your special day in Nebraska...Try to keep cool....

06/23/09 10:23 AM #5447

Michale Guilford (Junker)

Good morning all. Hi Cindy, noticed you were logged on. My oh my it is another hot one this morning. The air is so thick it feels like you could take a knife and cut thru it. Well a least we didn't have any surprise storms this morning.

Nip I love asparagus, I like almost all veggies. Wished I had a spot to garden. That's one of the fall backs of living in an apartment.

Jim nice to see you on. Do the trains have air conditioning or is just window breeze. I don't have any answers regarding how to keep the bunnies away, I agree with Cindy, you might need to get in touch with Matt and Terry and share your gardening skills.

Happy Birthday Roe, hope you have a wonderful day. Try and stay cool.

06/23/09 11:15 AM #5448

Cindy Pfingsten (Judd)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROE....WISHING YOU MANY, MANY MORE!

Making hay while it is hot and dry! We are in full swing...they are mowing alfala and brome down. We will be baling big squares and rounds this afternoon...and for the next month. Guys, we have done away with all little square bales...I'm sure the little square bales brings back some unpleasant memories for you...especially in this heat!

Cindy...Good Luck with wheat harvest! When I was coming home I saw some fields that had been combined. Glad to have your kids all home....nothing better than to be working with the next generation! Boy, do you have it right about trying to catch up....leave for a couple days and work to catch up for 5 days! It didn't help that the mower was broke down the week before I left.

To everyone...stay cool!

06/23/09 02:05 PM #5449

Jim Keilwitz

Better get a Happy B-day wish out to the big guy, enjoy your day Roe!!!

Michale, Yes we do have air conditioning now, they started getting locomotives with it about 15 years ago... The best part about that is, we can keep the windows closed when the horn has to blow, especially now since they are louder and they are after us to make sure every crossing gets the FULL blasting. If we don't we are written up to get disciplined.

06/23/09 06:21 PM #5450

Matt Jarchow

Jim.....as for the rabbits wire mesh is about the only thing that will work...I don't know how big of area that you have?? It may be to big of area to cover??? As for all the other remedies...moth balls....human hair.....repellents.....don't really work. I have a chainlink fence and if they are small enough they will go right through it. Personally I like the air rifle approach....but in the city limits you may have to use the Messing approach...

Then there is the Messing approach....We have all watched Caddie Shack....Carl Spackler AKA....T. Messing. Terry gets into the full get-up....face painted with camo.....branches taped to his head.....and the CEO's best flashlite taped to the barrel of his long gun....then he does the belly crawl through the back yard. Ohhhh I almost forgot the plastic explosive.....I think everyone gets the picture.....

Roe....Happy Birthday.
I know that you are on tour right now...No Roe sightings in the Lincoln area as of yet. Hope you had a good time last weekend and have a good week on Vacation. You deserve it.

As for last weekend.....I hope everyone had as much fun as I did......food..friend and stories. Thank you for the good time. Almost had to have a boat to get back to Lincoln...haven't driven in rain like that for along time....Nebraska never a dull moment.

Sweetie Pea..... The small bales bring up a story...the small ones. Hauled bales with Randy Hummel one summer....Randy and I were on the trailer unloading on the elevator into the barn...no one said that you couldn't put the bales end to end on the elevator going into the barn....made for happy campers in the barn.....

Shelly did you have to use a boat to get to work on Monday morning????I was trying to make my way across town for work when it came through...

Sweetie....I wanted to ask Big Jer if I could take the combine for a spin around the field..but didn't get to ask him. Sounds like I will let you guys get all the bugs worked out and then show up????

John and Tami...Pics of Saturday night???? Would like to see some of them....Especially the ones of Sweetie dancing on the table????? LOOK-OUT Sweetie for that bus....Sorry Sweetie I couldn't resist....LOL????

Happy Birthday to You!, ROE. I hope you had a great day.
I'm sorry I missed all of the Classmates who joined up in F-Town on Saturday -- we had tickets to the Clapton/Winwood Concert in Omaha.

We took the girls with us, thinking this would be an awesome concert... WTH?? They played for 2+ hours, and we only recognized FOUR freakin' songs??!!?? Those two guys made like 60 albums, with MANY great songs, but they only played FOUR hits??? Ahhh, the encore! Two more songs we knew -- "Cocaine" and "Mr. Fantasy Man". Oh well, it was amazing to see Clapton play the guitar, and that Steve Winwood has more talent than any one person should ever have. The girls thought the concern was cool, so I guess we did OK.

Matt, that rain was really a bear to drive through North of Lincoln, so I bet those were the same storms you drove home through. We got back to F-Town @ 2AM -- looonnnnggg day for Daddy.

Take Care Everybody!!

Good Eve All

Baseball.. baseball..

Before I get side tracked.. (Jim K u aught to appreciate that comment) LOL..

I would like to wish the GOOD DOC.. a very very very Happy Birthday..

Michale.. good for you and asparagus.. at least you are smart and know what is good for you.. LOL... Do you have a patio?? If so.. do some container planting..

Jim K west.. My idea is sort of like Little Buddy expressed on my part.. A good ole rabbit hunt in western Nebr.. I bet John Man would partake?? HEE HEE.. Little Buddy don't want the PETA folks to really know what he does..the reason he gives you all the BS stuff.. OK..
Another thought.. Little Buddy is in good with Larry the Cable Guy.. He might could ask Larry how to handle this one.

All have a good eve/day..

06/24/09 08:58 AM #5453

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good Morning....It was a scorcher in F-Town yesterday...We received 1/2 inch of rain through the night....I know everything needs the water with these hot temps...But not good if you are tryig to harvest..:(
Oh, well it will get done sometime...

Nippler...Nice to see you are alive and well...WHEW...Was beginning to wonder about you...Nothing better than watching the boys play baseball on a summer night...:) Keep us updated on the big plays Honey and Bub make...A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go....Exactly what I thought of when you said you were going wabbit hunting...Elmer Fudd...LOL...Can picture this scene perfectly...Have a great day...Hugsss

Keilwitz...Your asking the gardners about how to get rid of a rabbit...YIKES....Shooting guns????? You may have your hands full buddy...Hope things are going well for you...Wish we could see you sometime...Have a wonderful day..HUGSSSS

Ron...Nice to see you joined us...It has been awhile...Oh I bet the girls really enjoyed the concert...Nice of you to take them along....Lisa came home last night around 8...She ran into a small storm that popped up around Bruning...She said it was raining hailing, and winds were very strong...Heard on T.V. they had winds of 60 mph at Tobias...She also said the corn was laying flat....OUCH...Don't need that at all...Jerry had some errands to run this morn before going to Daykin so don't know for sure what the rain report is yet...Hope you have a fantastic day....

Bill...How the hell are you??? Is the new job working out for you??? Nice to see you popping in once in awhile...Always enjoy seeing what you have to say...Hope you are keeping cool....Tell Barb hello....Hugsssss

Sweet Pea...You'll get caught up someday...Then it will be time to start all over...I thought I was caught up and now I'm starting to fall behind a gain...UGH...Never ending story...If I could just have a day or two to my self...LOL...Then I would probably do nothing...LOL...When does Lily go back to the Dr???? Hope things are going well with her...:) Wishing you a great day adn try to stay cool...Love ya...HUGSSSS

It was nice to see that a few people got on the forum yesterday...That makes me smile...:) Hope you all have a productive day....

No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow......

06/24/09 09:28 AM #5454

Ron Yantz

Thanks for all your weather updates Cindy. I really appreciate your efforts, especially when I'm stuck over at work.
I was wondering what the storms were like around Daykin, as I've looked at the past radar-loop information this morning, and saw that a storm blew up in that area. I'll be interested to see what kind of reports Big Jer gets from the locals. Those 'windy-hailers' are nothing anyone wants to have roll through.

I hope the Good Doc didn't celebrate his 50th too much last night (is that possible?). I haven't "seen" him on here for a long time, and have been missing his humorous posts, as I'm sure many others are as well.

Have a great day everybody! As Michale faithfully reminds us; ITS HUMP DAY!!...and I'm glad this one is 'half' done...

06/24/09 10:36 AM #5455

Michale Guilford (Junker)

HAPPY HUMP DAY ALL!!! Gosh another rain we had here in Lincoln. It was a much nicer morning to wake up too. The air was a little cooler and the humidity wasn't as bad as yesterday so far. It is to get up near 100 with a heat index of 110, so we are in for anothr hot one today. 50% chance of thumderstorms today and tonight.

Cindy G I don't know, the weather isn't cooperating with the harvest thing. I'll keep my fingers crossed you get a few good days with the kids home to help.

Cindy P oh yes I remember the days of the small bales. All you see now on the trucks are the big square bales. How times and the way we do things have changed.

Bill my good friend. I'm sure sales have gone up this month with all this hot weather. Are sales ever really down with beer???

Ron nice to hear from you. Nice to hear you and your family could get away from the farm and have a family outing and family bonding.

Roe is now offically 50 as many of us either already are or will be in the near future. Hope you had a great day Roe.

Jim glad to hear ya had air conditioning, you probably wear ear plugs too cuz of the whistles and just train noise. I think the wire fence is about your best option regarding the rabbits.

Ya all have a great day, stay cool and dry. Hugsss

06/24/09 02:25 PM #5456

Jim Keilwitz

First of all, Thanks for the bunny advice, I was being lazy and didn't want to do the wire mesh. Of course it would be fun to watch Messing crawl around on all fours decked out in camo...

Beautiful day here, currently 75 with about 10 mph wind and clear skies... Hope you farmers are doing OK, wheat around here looks great... Ranchers are havind a heck of a time, can't get started haying with it raining so much... Another ag. problem either to much rain or not enough...

So those of you that saw Roe this weekend, has the tread mill turned him back into a stud muffin???

No train rides today, looks like about 4 am tomorrow... Have a great day!!!!

06/24/09 09:14 PM #5457

Matt Jarchow

Paging Mr. Messing...harvested the first cherry maters tonight only four but its a start.
I'm sure Larry and his wife could handle Jims problem they seem to be pretty good marksmen. Imagine Foxworthy and him stomping through the woods with highpowers??

Jim...as far as Roe and the mill.....well Roe looked lean and mean...not sure it is from the mill or not. But we did discuss the mill in detail....you have to hear Roe tell it. Something about doing the splits on the mill and scaring the hell out of the cat??? He said the cat has never been the same.

06/25/09 09:11 AM #5458

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good Morning....Another really hot day yesterday...We had a storm go through the Kansas area on our wheat fields last evening...UGH...Means we won't be in the field till at least Friday now...:( It always seems to be a hurry and wait process with us...Hopefullly we will be done before the corn and beans are ready...LOL...Maybe I shouldn't of said LOL...It is suppose to be really hot again today....

Nippler...Did you see where Little Buddy went to the farmers market and bought 4 cherry tomatoes, just to say he had them??? Whats up with that??? He always wants to be on top of things, don't you think??? LOL How is the baseball going?? Hope there are some more updates on some big plays again soon...Love to hear how all classmates kids are doing...Storms, storms, storms, you be careful flying in this weather...These storms are popping up fast and out of nowhere...Take care...Miss ya...Hugsssss

KEILWITZ...Hope you find a solution to the bunny invasion...Hate they are eating up your garden...YIKES...Glad to hear someone is getting some cool weather...Enjoy it....It is hotter than hades here...WHEW...Have a good day....

Little Buddy...4 cherry tomatoes....Is that all the better you can do??? LOL I want a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich...YUMMY...Do you have asparagus like Nippler?? You can keep that, don't need it here...Hope you are keeping as cool as possible in this heat....Take care....Love ya

Sweet Pea...Aloha...Just dreaming of being in Hawaii, so thought I would throw that one at you...LOL...sitting on a beach, looking at beautiful scenery, getting wet(and cooled down)....Wouldn't that be the life???? Oh it would be the life for a bit, but would miss my travel by gravel...We keep getting rain enough to keep us out of the field to harvest...You know what that does to a husband and 2 kids??? I know you do and then it feeds over to Mom...LOL...I'm just trying to keep my cool, and I mean that in more ways than one....Hope things are well for you all at the ranch....Take Care...Love and miss you...HUGSSSS

Well I hope everybody stays as cool as possible...The week is about to come to an end again...Where does the time go???? Another sign of old age???? Have a great day!!!!!

If luck is a raindrop...I'd send you a shower
If hope is a minute...I'd send you an hour
If happiness is a leaf...I'd give you a tree
And if you need a friend, you'll always have me!!!!!!!!

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good Morning Everyone...
It is going to be hot and steamy again today...The skies are overcast with a breeze...Small showers went threw the areas this morn....

Well I have my fingers crossed tightly, so we can begin harvest today....Hopefully Kansas didn't get much for rain either...It is a stressful and nervous time to sit and know crops are ready to go and then you can't get them out because of the rain...

I'm a little late this morning, but have put in a big day so far....The 3 water jugs are made, lunches for 3, garbage around and out for garbage day, laundry is started, and the kitchen is cleaned.....Sounds like I should be done for the day, but that isn't going to happen....I have floors to do, more laundry, bedding to wash, store, run errands for everyone, and get things organized for lunches tomorrow, fix supper, water flowers, weed flowers, and then I may think about sitiing for 10 minutes....I'm not complaining, this is my job and I wouldn't trade it for anything...But it does get hectic during our busy times...I love it and it keeps me on the move...:)

Nippler....Hope Honey does good on the testing...It was nice talking with you last night...I miss you...Try to stay cool today....Have a great weekend...HUGSSSS

Bill...I think you should come back...I believe you would love the heat and humidity...LOL...Whenever you come back let me know....We will get together for a drink...:) Hope things are well with you and your family...Have a good one...HUGSSSS

Sweet Pea...WHEW...Hope you are surviving the heat...Stay cool girl...Your always cool, but temperature wise...;) The mood is pretty testy around here...I hope they can stay in the field today...You know what I mean...LOL...Have a great weekend....Love ya and miss ya...HUGSSSS

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and gets the oppurtunity to do something extra fun....Enjoy!!!!!

Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time and sometimes you weep.

Evening all....
Just to fill you in....spent last night eating and cussin and discussin with some of our classmate here in Lincoln. Yes there was a Roe sighting in the Star city.
Sargey...John....myself....Mitch (Roes little brother) and his wife...Roe and the highlite of the night Brett..Roes son. My mouth must of hit the floor apon meeting Brett...I wasn't expecting on see him. Lets just say that Roe has a son that anyone would want. It does my heart good to know that we have such fine young people in this country. Roe should...and is very proud of him. Nicely done Roe!!!
And yes Brett is a lean.....mean.....fighting machine...Thanks Roe for bring him along..he made my night.
The night was way to short...friends.....food and fun....

Hope everyone has a great weekend....suppose to cool off a bit here....and less humidity....

06/27/09 09:07 AM #5463

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good Morning classmates....It is suppose to cool down today in the upper 80's....Oh will this ever feel nice...Less humidity too....AWWWWW...Hope you are all keeping cool wherever you may be....

Well I didn't quite have the fingers crossed tight enough yesterday...UGH...They took samples till about 3 o'clock yesterday....Still the moisture was to high...Hopefully with the humidity down today it will help us out a bit...They are talking of a shower going through this afternoon, but we are hoping it will go around our fields...It sure does that when we need rain why not now...LOL....So if things get started today, it will be balls to the walls...HEE HAW....Here we go....On a ride of a lifetime...:)

Nippler...Do you have bleacher butt yet???? Those darn bleachers never get any softer that is for sure...Soooooo, how is the garden going??? I hope you get at least 1 mater for a mater sandwich...LOL...Hope you have a great weekend and that it cools down for you in Oz land as well....Take Care....HUGSSSS

Little Buddy...Sounds like you had a wonderful time with the boys...Glad you could get together...It is always a good time when friends get to cuss and discuss and laugh till they pee their pants....Am I right???? Have a fantastic weekend and stay out of trouble...LOL...miss you....HUGSSSS

Sweet Pea...Ride'em cowgirl.....LOL...Hope you are enjoying your weekend and staying cool...It has been a scorcher..WHEW...The haying is going I'm sure...Hope things are running smooth with that....Seen Lily had a good report and that the arm is healing nicely...So glad to of that...Now to just keep her busy and not hurting it again for 3 weeks...Ginger has her work cut out for her...LOL...But she is such a sweet little girl, that likes to do many things on the ranch...Can't blame her, hope she takes it easy....Have a great weekend....HUGSSSS

Wishing you all a weekend full of fun and relaxation...:)

There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved...

Morning All, Since Cindy G. is busy holding down the fort, Happy B-day to Paula Lampe, have a good one...

Beautiful day here today!!! Enjoy your weekend!!!

Matt Jarchow

Paula Jaye.......hope you have a great day!!! Happy Birthday!!!

06/28/09 09:59 AM #5466

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Top of the most beautiful morning to you.....:) Yesterday the temps were in the 80's...Oh it felt so good...We had a shower go through here early afternoon that gave us about .15...The sun then came out and finished off the wonderful day...Today the sun is shining about as bright as it can shine and the temps are to be about the same as yesterday....Oh this is heaven....:)

Okay, now did you notice how positive I was about the weather???? Well here goes the negatives now....The Kansas wheat harvest got started about 10 am yesterday...It ended at 1:30 pm....Yes they had enough moisture to shut them down...So we have had 3 hours of productive wheat harvest so far...We do have a heavy dew this morning with not much breeze, so it is going to take awhile to dry the grain down...Elevators don't open till 12:00 today anyway...The mood around here is almost unbearable...And that goes for me too...LOL...I just want to scream.....So I think I will....AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW....Feel so much better...Thanks for letting vent on you....

Nippler...Hello....Are you still alive and well??? Butt stuck on the bleacher???? Whats up with you??? Mater harvest getting you down??? Honey-do list a mile long???? Oscar wanting some walk time??? See I have so much to ask you and visit with you about...Then you avoid me...Its okay, I understand there is no time for me anymore...LOL....Hope you are enjoying the weekend...Miss ya HUGSSSSS

Keilwitz...How is the rabbit hunting going????? Maybe you can have some rabbit stew using the veggies from the garden, if you can catch the rabbit before he eats all the produce...LOL...Have a great weekend...

Little Buddy...Whats up?? I bet you are glad that the temps cooled down...Oh it feels so good now...If we could just keep the rain out of the forecast...UGH...I may need some therapy when the harvest is all said and done....Can you help me out???? Well keep the produce growing, as I don't know if any of the other classmates will have any....LOL....Take Care...Miss you...BIG BEAR HUG To Ya.....

Sweet Pea...I know you know how the mood is around here...Just want to pack up and leave them all here to stew...I try to smooth things over and sometimes that gets me into trouble...LOL...My mouth seems to get me into trouble a lot here...LOL...Hope you are enjoying the weekend...Take it easy....Love you...HUGSSSS

Have the most enjoyable weekend...

Don't dread on the past, enjoy tomorrow it could be a better day than you think!!!!!!!!
