Good morning classmates...It is a beautiful sun shiny day here...Temps are to be about 80 today and we have a little breeze...

What great temps we have had for the 4th of July weekend...Drove throught the city park yesterday and viewed the flea market....There were many vendors here this year and a great amount of shoppers there too...One of big highlights of the year in F-Town....

I only did what I had to do yesterday...The rest of the time I just took it easy....Tyler had a friend back from Houston, TX, so many of his friends were back....We are kind of like grand central station here when the friends get together, so I had a houseful of boys most of the weekend...Enjoyed seeing them all again....

Hope you all are enjoying your weekend..Tommorrow it is back to our routines....

It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them....

Good morning everyone....Another sun shiny day here...Sounds as though we are to get some temps in the 90's this week with chances of rain on the weekend...Now that harvest is behind us we could use some rain again...Things are very busy around here...Never an idle day...We got to get things all done up so we can go on vacation....Oh I can hardly wait...

Hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July weekend...Now it is back to the daily routines...Time goes by so fast....Make sure you all make the best of each and every day...:)

Well the clock is ticking....I best get some more things done, as I have a busy week ahead of me....

Have a great day!!!!!!

Hello Classmates! I hope everyone enjoyed the great weather during the 4th-of-July weekend. Such wonderful conditions are rare for this time of year.

Yes, Cindy P/J, that Farmall 350 is very likely older than us. It is probably from 1957-1958. Those were good, reliable machines. That is what Dad put me on when I first learned to drive a tractor.

The little showers of rain (and many other things to do) kept me from getting the wheat harvested, but I'm glad for the rain. I also got to spend quality time with my family over the long weekend, so I'm really grateful. We also went to Columbus to visit and party with some friends - the cloudy/cool evening of the 3rd was fantastic for all of the food, fun and 'milk'!

Oh Matt, I could explain for a long time all the "reasons" for having 'two' combines, but it really comes done to the fact that it is far easier to jump in the little old 303 to do 22 acres than it is to sweat out changing the sieves (and the lack of AC) in the other one. Besides, I like keeping the little thing running, and it may even do a better job than my big one ever could. Whenever I plant a few acres of milo (never more than 25 acres any more), I just roll out the little 303 for the same (sieve) reasons. One year, the milo was so tall that I didn't even lower the header more than a few inches to harvest. Darn stuff yielded over 150 bu/A, and had so much growth that I pastured the cows on it for a month after harvest, and it was only a 10 acre field. THAT was wild!!

Ron Yantz

Congrats to Cindy G/R and Big Jer for getting the harvest out of the way. Cindy -- you should be able to relax for a bit!! Hearing that you're still awake @ 3 AM is not good... Overall, things have been going pretty good on the farming front, so we should all feel a little less stress. I know I'm glad to have NOT started my pivots until Saturday. To make it into July is always better than having to irrigate just to get the stuff out of the ground!!

Take Care!

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good morning to you all....It was a beautiful day yesterday here in F-Town...Today it is to warm up some more and there isn't much of a breeze thus far...We will probably start having the really hot weather again...Thats what Nebraska is all about...Constant change of weather...You gotta love it....

Ron..Glad to see you on here...I'm happy to see you got started on the wheat harvest...Sorry you couldn't finish it before the rain came in...There is always a positive to every negative...You got to spend quality time with your family...I'm sure those girls enjoyed every minute of being with their Dad...:) Sounds like they are talking chances of rain again this weekend...I guess we will take what we can get and deal with the rest of the farm work when we can...What else can we do??? Hope your week is going well for you.....Take Care...

Sweet Pea...How is the haying going??? I know you had to stop for awhile also....Hopefully things are on track for you guys...Is the guest house done yet??? I need a vacation....Just thought I would check on that...LOL...Well I hope your day is full of fun and adventure, but have the feeling it will be full of work...Make the best of any situation...LOL...Miss you and Love ya...HUGSSSSS

1day down 4 to go before the weekend arrives again...Have a fantastic day!!!!!!

Good Tuesday Morning to all!

Sweetie...yes, back to the hay field. They are nearly done with the brome, then it is on to the prairie hay. We are a little ahead of schedule with haying this year.....the weather has been cooperating! WE ran all the Fall heifers and bulls through the chute over the holiday weekend. The Fall bulls are all on gain test now for the next 40 days...there are 160 bulls...it was a full two days of gathering the pairs on horse back, sorting, hauling, vaccinating, and weighing.

Ron, good luck with your wheat harvest....we do not have wheat this year...but we do have oats. I think we will be squeezing the oat harvest in sometime the end of the week. The combining is one thing we hire done...so we just need to have trucks up there.

Cindy Georgi (Rosener)

Good Morning....The weather has been pretty nice here the last few days...Temps today around 90....A liitle breeze and the sun is shining oh so nice....Talk is still of some chances of rain this weekend...:)

Well I've a got a very busy week ahead of me...We are having an after harvest party this Saturday...My job is to cook, cook, cook. I finally decided yesterday the menu...I think I will make some BBQ pork sandwiches, several salads, baked beans,a relish tray, and a couple desserts...Oh and I can't forget some snacks....We are inviting, the people who have helped us out to make our farm operation go as smoothly as it can....So we have seed dealers, fertilizer salesman, insurance man, grain truckers, implement dealer, and of course Big Jer and his brothers fmailies...I figure their will be close to 35 people, if they all show...Sounds like most are planning on it...We have done this for the last several years...Just to show appreciation to all involved...It all couldn't happen without eacn and everyone of them...Of course cooking isn't the only thing that I've got to do...I need to round up some tables and extra chairs, coolers (oh yes we will have drinks too), Grocery store shopping, and oh you should see my house....Well it will all get done in time..:)

Sweet Pea...I'm so glad you are ahead of schedule...How do you do that??? Seems like whenever we get ahead we get pushed back a day or two...LOL...All part of ranch/farming...Never know what a day is going to bring for sure...Things can change within matter of seconds...I guess that is what keeps us on our toes all the time...LOL...Hope you day lets you stay ahead...Have a great one...Love you and miss you....HUGSSSSSS

It is mid week so start making some plans for the weekend...Get ahead of schedule....Have a wonderful day...

A friend is a person who goes around saying nice things about you behind your back.....

Morning All, Happy birthday Cindy Frades, hope you have fun today. Did Brian get the bobcats around Reynolds?

Just sitting here waiting for the coffee to get done...Sounds like harvest went well, Locals here are getting nervous, had some hail come thru on the evening showers lately. It sure does look good this year...

Starting out to be a beautiful day, need to get going...I'm suppose to help someone pour a concrete patio this morning...

Take care and have a great day!!!!

Good morning all....It is a lovely morning to start off the day...slight breeze and I believe the temps are suppose to be in the 90's again today...

We continue to be busy here as I know all of you are busy as well...It seems like life never slows down for us...I'm ready for a vacation and hopefully we will get one in a few weeks...:) It would be nice if classmates would write on the forum about their vacations, or even weekend outings that take place...I would love hearing about the places and things people are up to this summer...

I had someone come up to me the other day and saying man your website really slowed down....I said yes I know and I don't like it one bit....I feel like I'm talking to myself most of the time every morning....It will eventually get back the way it was before we had the site and we will not have contact with our classmates again...I hate seeing this happen and know everyone is busy, but just 5 minutes of your time to let us know what is going on in your life....You don't have to do this everyday, but I would love to hear from you...

Bill...How did the loin cooking on the sidewalk turn out for you???? Hope you didn't burn it up...LOL....Wow, you are having some heat out there...What does it cool down to at night??? When are you coming to F-Town???? I'm ready to sit and cuss and discuss and yes have a few beers with you....Hope you can make it back sometime soon....Take care my friend and thanks for popping in and seeing us once in awhile....HUGSSSSSS

KEILWITZ....Pouring cement this morning, huh??? Well it seems you always have a plan for any time you have off...LOL...How did the camping go on the 4th...I'm sure you had a relaxing and fun time...Did your daughter ever find a place to live yet??? Oh, we have looked at every apartment complex and duplexes in Lincoln, NE....Time consuming and exhausting....I'm hoping Tyler will stay in this duplex now till he is finished with school...I'm tired of moving...LOL...Well hope your day gives you a little free time for yourself....Nice of you to check in with us...Have a great day!!!!! HUGSSSSSS

Sweet Pea....How is my little pea doing today???? The days have been pretty nice here lately...Good weather to get some things caught up...Getting ready to prepare the fields so we can do the dreaded burning...Hate this step so bad...Scares me to death...I should look up some of my pics and post them for all to see why it scares me...You wouldn't get the true effect of it, but I guess they could see some kind of neat pics....I could never be an arsonist that is for sure....Well I hope things keep going well for you on the ranch...Keep those men in line as I know sometimes they need our advice...LOL....Peas in a pod....Love ya...Miss ya...HUGSSSS

Well the weekend is coming around the corner...Geez this summer is going so fast....Hope you all have a fantastic day....

The good life is inspired by love and guided by knowledge...

OK, The concrete is poured, we did the patio this morning so the guy I help says, I've got alittle bit of sidewalk that needs poured, so we did that this afternoon... So now it's Bud time...

Cindy, Abby did find a place in Omaha, couldn't find a house that would work, so they ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment... The 2 other girls are going to take the master bedroom (they are cousins) and share it and Abby gets the little one to herself...I hope it works because this approach has made the rent cheaper... Camping trip went well, went Sat. & Sun. no injuries and no break downs... Little cool on Sat. but Sun was nice, had fun, thats all that counts...

Well time for another and then hit the shower, Talk at u later...

Hello Everyone!

Just came back from Des Moines, Dave had a board meeting with our breed assocation at 9:30 this morning. Since we got home, Dave came in changed his shirt and out the door he went....they are harvesting oats...i hope they are dry for storage...I hate the electric bill when we have to dry the crop! WHEW...it is ugly!

We did have a microburst that just missed the ranch yesterday afternoon....about 5 miles from here, the corn on the way to Ottawa is shreaded from hail! I hope for those poor farmers sake it comes out of it....it is about to the tassling stage. I guess they showed on national tv The Village Inn motel roof blew off too...plus quite a bit of other damage! Boy, am I glad it mised us! We have enough on our plate now, with out having to be cleaning up that mess too!

Hi Cindy P/J! I forgot to mention that I did, finally, find a bull for my herd. The guy I bought him from was very happy I called, as someone had just backed out of a deal to buy one of his 2-year old bulls. The bull seems to have a good disposition, and has the frame I like to have my cows bred to, so, I hope he works out.
The second evening after I turned him loose with the herd, I was out walking the electric fence. I cut across the pasture to go back to the house, and was walking up on the herd. The bull got all "bully", and announced that he was "in charge", so I had to have a little "talk" with him. Nothing serious; just a walk-around to make sure he and I knew each other. I was glad to see he wouldn't put up with any intrusions, and he settled right down after he made sure I was not a problem. I expect by Fall to have him eating out my hand. Ha!!!
He and the neighbor bull "met" at the line-fence (NOT the same "neighbor" I have at Daykin -- this year I started them on my Fairbury pasture), so I had a little repair to do. I'm glad the line-fence has new wire (sharp points), as they seem to have learned to stay away from it now. The Joys of Livestock!!!
