Todd Uhrmacher

I have had 3 teaching gigs in my career - Grand Island, for 8 years; New York School for the Arts for 1; and for the past 17 years, I have been at Ralston High School in Omaha. I have been honored with several teaching awards over the years including Nebraska Theatre Teacher of the year for 2008. I even have a couple of Class A State Championships under my belt. (brag, brag) I direct & design for several local community theatres in my "spare" time. I feel very blessed to get to do what I love. Since I work with high school students daily, I find myself regaling them with Fairbury High School stories. I wish I had a nickel for every time I have had to explain what a "Jeff" is. Memories of pep rallies and our awesome basketball team seem to dominate my shared memories. Kids today really don't understand what true school spirit is. (I feel like the guy who tells of walking to school up hill - both ways - and in the snow!) Maybe my memories are a bit skewed, but I remember having immense pride in our school and its accomplishments. It was a great place to grow up.
