One month to go.....

How are we progressing on items?

Derrick: DJ, photographer and mardi gras beads?
Nicole: Agenda of activities?
Tina: Farmersville paraphanelia and sign?
Kyle: special surprise?

The postings and emails will get a bit more frequent as we get closer and closer to D-Day.

ya'll planin a major throw-down...

google 'photographer', 'mardi gras beads', and 'paraphanelia' all at one time... warning, remove kids from room before clicking results..

Dare I ask what we are using the mardi gras beads for? Because surely it isn't what comes to mind..

Hi All....23 days. OMGosh! Seems like it was just March/April when I was brainstorming with Beau.

Had an idea I wanted to post and see what the overall thoughts were... since there will be a few classmates who won't be able to attend because of distance, military etc, what do you think about having a conference line set up and at a certain time, the classmates can call in and we can chat live with them for 15-20 minutes?

Beau: send me a FB email and we can set a lunch.

Derrick Hagler

Sounds difficult. Lots of complications.
Speaker phone, background noise, time differences.

Maybe they can write in and someone reads it.

Shannon White (Caldwell)

Derrick--probably so....but just wanted to see.

How can I get the mardi gras beads from you? You can ship to me (I can provide a Fedex number). You can volunteer to help set up and bring 'em over to D&Bs or if you have another idea, let me know!

Dell--what time do you want people to come to your house Friday night? So far there's about 10 people who have replied to tell me they're able to come. A lot who don't know yet. I'm sure you saw the message of the deadline I gave for RSVPing.

09/08/09 05:50 PM #187

Derrick Hagler

Shannon- I can give them to Beau to give to you when he drops off the pics.
Sorry, can't help with the set up as I already have plans for that afternoon.

Dell, I'm coming +1 and I know Spain is coming. Is there a list of who RSVP'd. I can call those I see often and beat a confirmation out of them. :)

Shannon White (Caldwell)

Hi All,

I've added a place for RSVPing for Dell's on the 20-Year Reunion Page. It's located in the same place as where you ordered/purchased your tickets. I will send out an email for that later this week.

Oh, what? You mean you haven't ordered/paid for your tickets yet? If you're waiting for payday, cool. If you keep forgetting, take some gingko biloba.

:)

Derrick...that would be great if you get the beads to Beau this week? And no problem that you can't help with set up. I didn't want to have to change all my decorating ideas at the last minute :)~

LAMO!!!

I love it! You're so accomidating.

gingko biloba

~ for me.. that would be like using a bandaid for an amputated leg

It's really embarrassing in meetings when you start to explain something, and by the time you get to your third sentence, you hear one of the voices in your head ask... "what was that question again?"

09/09/09 04:13 PM #191

Derrick Hagler

Spain- I like that you have more than one voice in your head. I think that explains it all. lol

Just got off the phone with James Middleton. He's going to write something for me to read in his absence. He reminded me of a lot of funny stuff too.

all man.. i think it's pretty normal that people have voices in their head...

Anyone know how to get in touch with Paul Evans? I know he wasn't there when we graduated but he was at the 10 year

09/12/09 12:06 AM #194

Jennifer Martin

I just bought my tickets and booked my room...whoo hoo!

Here are twenty random things:

1. I had to carry a first grader to the office today because he wouldn't leave the classroom. Needless to say, one day of ISS turned into two for the trouble. :)

2. I have been 165 mph on my ninja without batting an eyelash.

3. I can't stand when people speak using double negatives. I don't have no tolerance for that!

4. I was the person who named our mascot Farmer Joe and the first person to wear the farmer head. (He had some unsightly moles by the way...)

5. I flunked out of college the first go round. Who would have thought I would ever be working on a doctoral degree?

6. I do not like beans of any kind and always eat lobster for my birthday.

7. Ik sprek Nederlands. (I speak Dutch.)

8. I am a wino, but I have never liked beer. I have had two beers in my entire life. One was in high school and the other was on a booze cruise in Jamaica.

9. I am probably the only person left in America who is not on Myspace or Facebook.

10. Each night before bed I must have my chapstick and my ear plugs. I sleep alone, but I got used to wearing them a few years ago.

11. My dog, Peanut Butta, has his fur shaved into a mohawk. He didn't want to stand while I was cutting his fur, so BAM...mohawk it is!

12. Texting? Great. Talking on the phone? Not so much.

13. I get impatient in meetings when people get off topic, although I maintain my cool.

14. Mac computers are the shhhhh.

15. Because I am so busy, I save all of my newspapers and read them on the weekend.

16. You will not get me into a Sci-Fi movie, but I like all other genres. We often sneak our "hooch" in.

17. My son's name is Sebastiaan. (Se-Boss-T-On) I was actually trying to pick a Dutch name that would not be too strange for Americans! The shortened version is Bas, which sounds like Boss. Hence, I am always having to explain that he is not really the BOSS!

18. When I was in the classroom, I had quite a menagerie of pets. I have had chinchillas, bunnies, hamsters, hairless rats, crabs, millipedes, lizards, praying mantises, butterflies, silkworms, and frogs.

19. I am trying to come up with one more thing to write so I can go to bed.

20. I like honesty. I have a pretty thick skin, so I can take things in stride versus taking them personally.

Oooooo an elusive Jennifer Martin siting! Don't scare her off now! Sriously though, we will need to know your room number so we can go in and short-sheet the bed and put Saran wrap over the toilet.

It's a phrase Quagmire from Family Guy uses when he's talking dirty.

That's Derrick. I mention a harmless prank and he parlays it into full blown assault.

memories, memories, memories.
I've been reading the user forums where many of you posted highlights from your football days.

I'm wondering about other memories: like your favorite food in high school, or the movies and songs you liked. Who was your favorite teacher?

For me, I probably had powdered sugar donuts for breakfast every morning and the best lunches were the pizza pockets. Rusty and I went to see Top Gun together and Time of our Life was the theme to our junior prom. My favorite teacher was probably Ms. Allen even though math was my least fav subject. And Beau, your mom was my all time favorite teacher from middle and high school. I loved how she popped her gum and I learned how to spell prerogative in her class.

I remember final exams our senior year. Mike & I started drinking screwdrivers for breakfast and got S-faced (abbreviated for Shannon)and solicited some ladies to go to Wylie with us for lunch at McDonalds. I think it was Kristen Donnell, Joanna Henslee and I forget the other, sorry.

Was Stevie there also??? Anyone...anyone...Bueller?

I remember that someone had to do Mikes computer science test for him because he was effed up. (again for Shannon)I'm protecting our clean cut group from the profanity.

That was a fun day.

I loved the pizza pockets too but I also loved when we'd go to Gringo's on Fridays before homegames. I'd load up on chips and salsa before we'd have to put on those almost all-white F'ette costumes -- looking back, not the best move I've made in my life. My mom and dad would often have popcorn and hot cocoa made when we got home from the games...of course i loved beau's chicken spaghetti he'd make for us! i don't know that i had a favorite teacher 'cept maybe coach morrison bc he was REALLY into literature, which i was too. in middle school, i loved ms. bridges with her perfectly lined lips and ms. mounger, again because she was a literature nut. i also loved ms. highsmith in MS. one fond memory i have of MS is when stephen (what was his last name) used to hold his breath till he'd pass out in ms. bishop's class. come to think of it, that was REALLY dangerous!! and i remember that i got licks in both middle school and high school for backtalking - something (gasp) i have issues w my ownf kids about...go figure.
