You might be asking yourself, "So, how did the planning committee get formed for the 30 year reunion?"..... 

I am sure most of you have heard about the site, Classmates.  On occassion I would visit the site.  So happened one day in early February that I was browsing the site and discovered I had a message there waiting for me, it was from Lori Strayer Dye.  As many of you know, Lori and I were pretty good friends in our early years of high school.  We had not really talked much less seen each other in many, many years.  After seeing the message, we both made an effort to contact each other and started talking about high school and past reunions.  In addition to reconnecting with Lori and of course, Gary Dye, I had also re-connected in person about a year ago with Richard Andriano.  This also lead to a re-connection with Danny George, Cathy Eddins Wood and Walter Landis.  Life has a way of going full circle sometimes.  

We all decided to just take the bull by the horns and start planning for our 30th reunion.  We all had the same goal in mind......we wanted to make every effort to contact EVERYONE, even those who may not have graduated with the class but spent many of their school years with us and unfortunately had to leave the area for what ever reason.  So, here we are, planning the 30th year reunion for the Class of 1978!!  Please join us in making this a reunion to remember!

After many, many email exchanges we decided getting together in person would be so much easier and a great opportunity for everyone to get re-acquainted again.  Our first meeting was March 15th at Rich Andriano and Terre Turner's house in Lee's Summit.  Everyone brought their yearbooks, Senior Memory books and other memorabilia they had saved from our high school years and some even from grade school.  Danny George was a wealth of information and had yearbooks back to our grade school years as well as numerous clippings from newspapers.  Several others have contributed information and/or photos.

The April Reunion Planning Meeting was held at Cathy Eddins Wood's house.  Walt couldn't join us this time but the meeting went on.  The meeting was enjoyable.  We did a lot of brainstorming and you know that takes a toll on many of us.  We were all starving so,  Cathy attempted to delight us all with her culinary expertise...she was such a stellar student in home economics class...... what happend Cathy?  Maybe Mrs. Lovely should have held a class on reading "take n bake" pizza instructions!  The veggie tray was good though and that Ranch dressing was to die for!   And the crab dip, well ask Moose (Rich) about that tasty stuff....he ate it all!!  Oh and the jelly beans and pistachio's were yummy too!  Thanks Cathy for hosting the April meeting.  Despite all of us (including your own daughters) picking on you and your cooking abilities, we had a great time!

Our last "group" meeting was held at Danny's home on June 7, 2008.  Danny did a great job of showing off his cooking talent!  We all stuffed ourselves with lasagne and salad and then enjoyed a very nice early summer evening on the deck.  More ideas were exchanged and others were finalized.  We concluded that it was time to put eveything into motion!
