Comments:

Went to Chapel Hill for undergrad, taught in a DC Prep School to dodge the draft, worked for a computer company in Balto, got drafted, went to a bunch of military/government schools, went to SEA and stayed four years, formed and commanded three Intelligence units, worked at the Pentagon, State Department [INR], CIA, formed/managed a DIA global organization [DCS], got MA from Georgetown/Oxford and MBA from Webster, taught International Management at U of Maryland, formed three companies (2 IT, 1 publishing).

Now directing an international management consulting company to service growing technology companies, writing my memoirs, and annoying the Deep State via Twitter [I've now been kicked off and now on X (formerly Twitter), Telegram as @Spookdblog.

Tired of resting on my laurels and sitting on the boards of directors of several 501(c)3 organizations and being a patron of the arts, I reopened my company and enjoy the consulting role covering IT, engineering, forensics, and physical and cyber-security.

In a desperate attempt to improve the gene pool, I spawned five kids and acquired two more step-kids through marriage, all of whom turned out quite well [now have a growing herd of grandkids]:
Matt served in the Army's quick reaction force in Rwanda and Serbia, published a coffee table book [Best of DC -- Inaugural Edition] and is now managing PR Director for a federal agency;
Kevin managed BofA's airline credit card division, then started up a digital tech company, and manages a similar digital media start-up in NYC.
Hilary was Executive Assistant to the CEO and COO and became Exec Manager of a high-tech start-up in McLean [FrontPoint], started an interior design and construction firm; now is helping to create a program to rehab Homeless Folks.
Mike runs a NYC real estate firm and was written up twice in Forbes and once in the WSJ as Best Realtor in NYC.
Kat finished graduate school as a psych major, and has established her own arts and crafts design firm, and is beginning a specialized bakery in Asheville. She has won several photographic awards.
Christian and Sophia [twins], both brilliant, are in college; Christian to U of California and Sophia to Oxford University and now in Florida Gulf Coast University.

School Story:

Anything I say can and will be used against me in a court of law.
The rest of it is hearsay.

When I transferred to the 9th grade, we took a battery of tests, which included an IQ test. Since I was sitting next to a gorgeous blonde [Linda Dillender], I decided to impress her by adding two years to my age so she could see that I was an "older guy" when I passed in my booklet through her to the end of the row [she didn't give my booklet a glance!].

That stunt lowered my IQ score by 40 points, so my academic path at FHS was altered somewhat as I was obviously not college material.

Our Principal, John Sasser, having investigated my "official" IQ score, later was convinced I'd somehow fudged my SAT score and was certain I'd end up as a convicted felon. He'd be shocked to learn that I wangled fellowships to Oxford and Georgetown Universities and taught at the U of Maryland.

[Amazingly, old Percy A Warren became the buffer between Sasser and me and saved me considerable heartburn. A fond tip of my hat to Percy!]

Surprisingly, I did not become a convicted felon, but instead put a few years in as a GI with three commands [of detachments I created], directed a national Military Intelligence training program, created and directed a DOD global intelligence program, created and managed several successful companies, and, to John Sasser's dismay, never served a day in prison {although I was, briefly, a POW near Pakse, Laos}.

I look back on my time at FHS with pleasure, having met some of the most extraordinary people in my life, some of whom I remain in contact with even today. Glad to see many of you at our reunions.

It appears we're almost neighbors now.
Once I get settled, I'd enjoy getting together with you for a beer.

In the event we run out of gas, we learned to drive elephants; not terribly fast, but impervious to road, trail, and forest debris.

Happy birthday Charles.

I figured neither of us would have lived this long.
Most of the people our age have been dead for ten years.

Hang in there; lots of fun to be had in the next ten years.
