Comments:

I graduated from Duke U. in 1966 with an A. B. degree and a major in Political Science. I graduated from the Duke Law School in 1969 with a J. D. degree. From 1971-1972, I worked with Dan Perry in the District Attorney's office in Fayetteville. From 1972-1973, I worked with the Tally Law Firm in Fayetteville. Sally and I were married on July 17, 1971. She is a retired Physical Therapist (of the "No Pain, No Gain" school of PT).
In late 1973, we moved to Raleigh and have been in this area ever since. It was a nice, quiet place to live in 1973, but the whole area surrounding the Research Triangle Park (Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Chapel Hill, etc.) has just exploded since 1973 and we now have a SMSA population of about 1.5 million and the usual "big city" traffic and other headaches. We also have great college sports, Carolina Hurricanes pro hockey, a whole host of museums and other cultural opportunities. Raleigh seems to be "permanently" listed in the Top 5 of "Best Places to Live" and "Best Places to Work" in the USA. It also has an interesting change of climate. There are four seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer and Christmas. After a stint working for the State in the public utility field, I have been in private practice, with the same firm, since 1982. I still enjoy what I do very much and have no plans to retire anytime soon. I enjoy golf, trips to the mountains and beach, other travel, plays and musicals, and just "chillin" with my children and grandchildren. I really do enjoy being a "Pop Pop," the name that my oldest grandchild Hailey hung on me years ago. Don't laugh (those of you who knew me well back in the day) but, from 2007 - 2010, I served as the Lay Leader of my church. Currently, I am Chair of the Staff-Parish Relatins Committee and serve on the Church Council. In 2007, I "peaked out" at 300 pounds. I was ready for those "seven lean years" if they ever came back. However, since neither the NFL nor the Sumo Wrestlers came to sign me up, I changed some of my habits and lost about 90 pounds ifrom 2007 - 2010. I put about 20 of that loss back on and my weight seems to have stabilized at about 230, approximately the same thing as when I graduated from law school at Duke in 1969. I have been delighted to see that so many of our "classmates" have "checked in" and hope the rest can be found. On a very sad note, I did attend, last Spring, the funeral/memorial services for Jimmie Little. He led a rich, full, useful and productive life but died way too young. I was happy to see Doug and Linda Byrd, Larry and Tip Harris and others at the services. It's amazing how none of us "have aged a day." Too bad about the rest of you. Drop me a line or respond on this website if you get a chance. BOB

School Story:

I remember the Spring of 1962. We were all in a "bad" case of "Senioritis." Then the school cafeteria served that impregnable bunch of elongated sausages (or whatever they were). We tried cutting them with knives, forks, spoons, our teeth, etc. Nothing worked. It was, I suppose, inevitable that one would get tossed. That set off a chain reaction with sausages flying all over the cafeteria. Strong men trembled and young ladies wept at the spectacle. I still remember Percy Warren running around yelling "Stop! Stop!" to no avail About 2:00 in the afternoon, John T. Sasser got on the intercom and announced: "Will the following persons report immediately to the gymnasium." And then he started reading off the names of those observed playing sausage baseball in the cafeteria. Thirty minutes later, he was still reading names. The after school clean up was worth it. Do you remember the appearance of The Isley Brothers (the originators of "Twist and Shout" before the Beatles made it even more famous) in the old Guard Armory downtown? I have a host of terrific memories of this very special time in all of our lives and, every so often, I revisit my "treasure trove of memories" of the early 1960s. We were impossibly young, but we sure did know how to have fun. I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can at the 50th Reunion in 2012. Thanks a million to Charles, Joy, Bob and the others who are spearheading this. I know we all appreciate their hard work. Stay safe and Be young. BOB

Bob, I'm so proud of you. Your life is a real success story. There is a great church in Cary. Also, a School for Religious students. Why can't I recall this great pastor on radio and newsprint? Colonial Baptist? Anyway you've had a great life in such a growing area of our
state. I've been in Fayetteville with 1/2 work house in Charlotte, home in Rocky Mount, Wilmington, Whiteville, Clinton, and High Point. Now married near Winston Salem. More later. Happy Birthday! Danny Townsend

Bob Page and Granddaughter Hailey Page at "Gigi's" apartment at Wesley Pines Retirement Home in Lumberton. "Gigi" is my mother and Hailey's Great Grandmother, hence Hailey gave her the nickname of G. G. (or "GiGi") for great-grandmother. Gigi is now 94 and I wish my brain was as sharp as hers.

Cheyenne is a husky mix and loves snow, sleet and cold weather. It is "her" element.

Bear (Cheyenne's brother -- an interesting litter born to son Jack's dog Stella)also loves the snow and cold. He was too warm standing up, so he just flopped in it.

Bear and Cheyenne "guarding the sofa" in the living room. They are in what we call "bookend" position. Notice that Bear has his hot dog chew toy down by his paws.

We got 10" of snow the day after Christmas in 2010. For N. C., that counts as a "White Christmas."
