Your Life Story:
After graduating from The Mary Louis Academy in 1970, I attended the Wood Secretarial School, NYC. My first full-time job was typing telegrams at Western Union, Forest Hills, NY.
I went to Orlando, FL in November, 1975 and stayed till July, 1985. Seven of those years were spent waitressing at the Steak-Out. During this time, I attended Seminole Community College in Sanford, FL working on an AS Degree in Data Processing.
I arrived back in New York for my sister’s wedding in August 1985 and then left for California, a place I wanted to live, spending over a month traveling across the country, visiting family and friends. After staying with a friend in Los Angeles, I arrived in San Francisco in December 1985.
In 1986, The California Wine Institute, San Francisco hired me as a bookkeeper to keep track of the federal funds that they were receiving for an agricultural export program. When my boss retired, she recommended me to a trade association in Vancouver, WA, which brought me to the Pacific Northwest in January, 1989. I continued my education and received an AS degree in Business Administration at Clark College in 1991.
I got a job at the phone company in Portland. OR in 1995 and bought my first home in SE Portland in December, 2000, where I currently live with my 2 dogs. The phone company paid for school and I continued my education at Portland State University and graduated with a BS degree in Arts & Letters in 2004.
When the phone company’s business office in Portland, OR closed in 2004, I was hired by a new company that purchased the payphone department of the phone company, where I currently work today. I was given an additional 2 years of paid school and I started taking massage classes at the East West College of the Healing Arts. I received my license for massage therapy in 2006.
That’s it in a nutshell! Look forward to meeting all & sharing more.
