Bizarre. Under what events happened in 1979:
China institutes the one child per family rule to help control its exploding population.

I never thought back then that my one and only child would come to me partially as a result of this policy. Any other moms to a three year old here?

My French is still good. It hasn't helped me to learn to speak Chinese, though.
