Where Are You Christmas - Cover by One Voice Children's Choir
Sorry to put a damper on everyone's Christmas, and Richard's fine ramblings, but to those that haven't heard, and may have know him, my brother Danny Colby passed away last Thursday at his home. He had had some health issues, but none that we would have thought were life threatening. He was 66, and would have graduated DMHS class of '67, but chose to attend his senior year away.
He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Boeckel (Marcus), and Stephanie Colby, and 2 grandchildren. Myself and one other remaining brother, Lawrence Colby.
Thanks to all of you that have posted on our Facebook pages, it really means a lot to our entire family.
I am so sorry to hear of your brother's passing, and most of all at this time of year. I know that is so painful. I did not know him personally but if he was anything like his brother, he was a fine man. We lift you and your family up in prayer

Richard ~ As always, thank you for your thoughts shared through your "Ramblings" as it always gives me a few things to ponder in this crazy world we live in each day. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
I hope you all have gotten a chance to look at the recent survey that was completed and posted of our last Reunion. I really enjoyed reading the responses and saw many good idea's. I know the comittee workded hard on making sure it was a nice affair and with a good location at a reasonable price. My biggest take away was that he music was not very satisfactory. I agree, I think the nex time it should be stickly sounds from our time in high school. So many great songs that would elicit some fond memories. I also found it very interesting that some really enjoyed the Pelican but also thought that a less formal location that would make it easy to move about and talk and maybe a little program. I think all the idea's were great. I am curious however as I read the number of people that responded that did not attend, I did not see a definitive reason why they did not show up. Oh well, The imput was great and I thought the survey was well done.
Another topic, I would like to see if there is any interest in trying to get together for a one night or day event for a 65th birthday party? Just cruious, If there is any interest and if there is maybe someone would be happy to chair and look into the possiblities of an event, maybe a Bar b Que.
I would love to be able to attend our reunions and did so when they were during the summer. I think a few of us commented that holding it during football season was problematic. I still work at Stetson University and work during football games.
I am so grateful for the folks who hold our class together with this website and with planning events. Eagle born and Eagle bred....
For anyone that might be interested, my Brother Danny's daughters and I are having a celebration of life for him Saturday, Jan, 30, from 1 to 4PM at the old Indrio Rd. Schoolhouse.
After my friend David Feibelman (Class of 70) received his new transplanted heart, the only transplant recipient I know, this commercial took on an all-new meaning. We are all rejoicing for you David.
Just try to watch this TV commercial without crying… but then again I have already confessed what a crybaby I have become.
You dog owners know that dogs can sense things that we can't. This four-legged friend just knows his master’s heart in in this lucky lady. She knows that this dog is special, a semi-good ending to a sad situation.
I found your posting very heartwarming. I am a donor and have pets which always make us laugh, cry and yes, curse. We must always help each other any way we can. Would like to attend a 65th year reunion. Unfortunately I live too far away to help..Delaware and am watching my two great-grandsons while my grand-daughter finishes college.
