Richard,

The 1931 Santa Lucian was great.  So many names I recognized through out.  Ray Tylander, Louis Maser, Bill Summerlin, and Olive Dame to mention a few.  Y'all remember Olive Dame don't you? She was Mrs. Peterson the 8th grade Social Studies teacher.  Most of you filled out the paper work to get your social security number in her class.  She was always talking about "the Judge", refering to her father Flem C. Dame.  Besides these people, there was a pile of names that I don't recognize the first name but the last names screamed out the words "Fort Pierce".  One of them was probably the aunt to our classmate Kyle Van Landingham.  Anyway, it was great to look back through our history.  Thanks Again Richard.

It is hotter than all 'get out' in Fort Pierce these days.  Does anybody live anywhere where the weather is cool?  The one good thing about our summers is that you can usually find a bit of a breeze here.  If you can find a nice shade tree that is in line with that breeze, you can spend some time out of doors.  We have become so aclimated to our air conditioners these days that we are dependent upon them.  I never realized that it was so hot here until I grew up and bought a house with one.  All I remember (and my memory is pretty good), is that I dreaded the winter because of the cold.  Now it is exactly the opposite.

After it does cool down, does anybody feel like doing one of those "Saturday Noon @ Archie's" type things?  It has been quite a while.

Y'all stay cool!

I heard that Darlene Dawson's mother passed. Does anyone have her address and phone # so I can contact her? Thank you.

Hi Linda,

I had not heard this, and frankly, assumed (I know) she and Darlene's Dad had passed some time back - simply due to OUR ages.

She was a wonderful woman.  I had her in Elementary School - stern yet heart of gold and very very smart.  Not only was she a teacher of mine, but the Dawson's were neighbors as well and Darlene a good friend.  I had read somewhere that Darlene had retired not too long ago - hopefully she reads this.

Hawaii was nice.  I lived on Ohau from 1983 to 86 on the North Shore by the orange dirt Dole pineapple fields. I used to go to Wiamea Bay when the winter swells were massive and the Bonzi Pipeline waves were choice! The shaved ice stands were so good when it got too hot and "THE BUS!" LOL...I rode it EVERYWHERE. I think about Hawaii all of the time...my son's girlfriend's father owns the Hotel and golf resort on the Island of Maui...they are from Vero Beach...he used to own Decca Records back in the day! How are you doing, Gary?

To All of our Classmates and Friends who have remained or returned to the east coast of Florida, I wish you all the best in the face of this impending hurricane.  It looks like it could be pretty nasty.  I spent 13 hours Tuesday and 9 hours today getting ready for this thing.  I may have another 5 hours tomorrow, no telling.   I am sure that plenty of you may have done the same.  All those things that seem to have been the object of my procrastination have caught up with me all of a sudden.
My prayers go out to all in the path of this monster.

Please Follow the Safest Path

Tommy

I think most everybody in Fort Pierce made out with little more than a few branches and leaves in the year Gary.  Thanks for wondering about us.

How about everybody else?  Are You OK?

Thankful that we were spared the rath of Matthew last week.  Other than a lot of debris to clean up, we were left in excellent condition.  I sure was happy when the power came back on after about 48 hours.  We are so spoiled!  Hope everyone else faired as well.  Cheers to all the Eagles!

Thank God that is over.   Between the political ads on the television and the phone ringing off the hook, I was ready to strangle somebody.  I have spent the last month watching METV because there were no campaign ads.  Problem is now, I still cant watch the news in the morning before work because I'm hooked on Mr. Ed.

I hope everybody is well.  It has been pretty quiet on here lately.

This was going out as an email but the email server is down.  I decided to post it in the message forum to see if the word would get out.  TS

Dear Class of 1969 and Friends,

I see that Richard has posted his latest Rambling to our Home Page.  There's a pile of reminiscing going on in this episode.  It will probably make you remember the first time the cops got on your tail for doing something you shouldn't have been or one of those "after the game sock hops" with Tradition's Children.  There are quite a few other reminders of our past included as well.

Tune in and check it all out and while you are at it, give Richard a big thanks for including our class in his compositions.  Also, please take time to say a little prayer and ask The Lord to Bless him in this problem he is having with his voice.

Thank You Richard for sharing with us and I will be praying for your vocal recovery.

Tommy Schwartz

It was getting near the end of Mr. Shaffer's 7th grade math class, room B4 at St. Lucie County Jr. High. I was sitting near Doug Stormant and Kathy Wright probably clowning around as usual. The PA
came on with a radio broadcast saying that the President had been shot and wounded in a motorcade in Dallas. Soon after, the bell rang and I headed to Mrs. Scholl's 6th period art class in room D5. As I walked in I saw Shirley Walker crying at her desk. Soon the bell rang and within a couple minutes the PA came on again with another radio feed saying the President was dead. It's funny how you remember such details from what started as just another day in the life of a 12 year old...53 years ago.

I guess the Class Creator email server is back up.  They promised to email and let me know when it was fixed and didn't.  So sorry that we couldn't get word out earlier about Richard's Rambling for this month and Thanksgiving Wishes before it had been over for days.

I hope everybody had a Wonderful Thanksgiving.
