DAVID L. EGTS, 70, of Fort Wayne, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014. Born June 30, 1944, he was a son of the late Clifford Balyeat and Clementine Mueller. He was later adopted by Joseph Egts. David was raised by Joseph and Clementine in Fort Wayne. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a retired Allen County Sheriff's Deputy. After retirement, he worked for Fort Wayne City Communications. He also worked at ORCC. He was a member of American Legion Post 296. David enjoyed playing golf and watching hockey, but he most adored his grandchildren and family. Surviving family include his wife, Sandra Egts; sons, Todd (Tania Morris) Egts, Troy (Christina) Egts, Adam (Jessica) White, and Chad (Ashley) White; grandchildren, Taylor, Dakota, Eastyn, Logan, Addison, Mackenzie, Camden, and Tyler; and his beloved dog, Seamus. He was also preceded in passing by his first wife, Joyce Egts; and brother, Michael Egts. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with a vigil and rosary service beginning at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
