Courtney had cancer. I asked his friend on FB to send me his obituary when it was available so I could share it here and SS Alumni page so his classmate all can know of his passing.

This is the first time I've posted on this page. Reading about people who have passed away has really touched me. To those of you who are reading this, please plan on coming to our 50th Reunion! We are all survivors! I want to see you, to talk to you about what you've been doing, to talk to you about what your dreams still are (yes, we still have them)...to just touch base with you, to smile and give you a hug (if you want that). I'm so glad you're all here! It is sad that so many of us aren't. For those who can come to our reunion, please do! Put the date on your calendar (Sept. 22, 2018). Encourage other class members who you know to attend. Check out the missing classmates page to see if you know the contact info for anyone there. I would love to see as many of you as possible at our reunion -- those I've stayed in touch with and those I haven't, those I remember well and those I don't. We all have something in common...we graduated together, once we talked and worked and played and did some things we probably shouldn't have together! I want to see you all!

P.S. My nephew (my sister's son), who was raised in Dallas, is married to Annie Bolman's neice. Annie's neice was raised in Minneapolis. She is Chip Bolman's daughter. They have a young daughter and a 2nd baby due in December.

P.P.S. If I knew how to post a picture, I would.

Sandy - Thanks for the lovely message in support of our 50th reunion reunion.  Yes, those of us who are lucky enough to still be here should celebrate that together!   I enjoyed learning that your nephew is married to Annie's neice.  I have a neice from North Carolina who served a residency under Chip in Minneapolis. Sometimes the stars align in interesting ways.  See you next year!   Jeanette (Jeannie) DeVore

There is a John Edward Rose, 1949-1979, who was buried in Highland Park Cmetery here in Fort Wayne.  His marker indicates Vietnam Veteran, PFC, United States Marine Corps.  This could be him, but not 100 per cent certain.  If I find more, I'll let you know.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Henry Kelley?  He was in the 1967 yearbook...but nothing mentioned in the 1968 yearbook.  My crooked memory thinks he died in the car accident that took Ralston Craig..they were friends.....just wondered why he is truly missing on our site.....

Richard Butler was driving the car. Contact him, I’m sure he could tell you.

A Henry David Kelley died from an auto accident on US 27 South on 31 Aug 1968.  He lived on Reed Street.  Very possibly this is the person of whom you speak.

Kathy if you know how to contact Greg Peterson, him and Hednry were pretty good friends. He might know something about him.

The FB page "SSHS Class of '68" will soon be archived unless someone steps forward as an administrator. Any thoughts on this or someone willing to tackle the job?

John -

I'm not sure exactly what being the administrator of the "SSHS Clas of '68" Facebook page entails, but I just logged on and said I would do so.  Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  I hope all is well with you.

Thank you very much Jeanette. I've been staying busy. I'm remodeling our house and continue to teach English thru the library where my wife works. Covid 19 has caused us to cancel two trips to America. Hope you and your family are also safe and doing well! Thanks again!

Hello Fellow Classmates of 68!

I am posting this message for Kenneth Wickliff, 68 Grad.  He lost his wife, Dorthy, last week!  They were married for 49 years.  She was a great and feeling Nurse and a Great Friend to many!  He (Ken)was a Loss Classmate for over 50 plus years because the "e" was dropped out of his last name.  ( That is another story!)

Please, keep him, family and friends in your daily prayers and mayber any cards!!

My first wife and I got them together well over 50 years ago.

His friend and fellow Classmate of 68!

Tony Moran, Team68

P/S

I can get the cards to him, ok1

It saddens my heart to hear of Dot's passing. I know his pain is great. But he will be comforted. My heart goes out to him to hold him in my heart. Blessings be his. Hang in there Kenny. "Stapleton"

My best friend Tim Horn died last year and I forgot about this site and didn't post my thoughts here./ Tim and I were best friends since we were 4 years old. Grew up as neighbors, and it proved to be a lifelong friendship. I was the "Best Man" at his first wedding. I cried the day I learned of his death. He was more like a brother than a friend. I loved his family, it felt as close as my own family. His sister Barb and I are still close. It is so sad to see my dear old friends pass when I am in great health., I not sure why genetics or lifestyle I suppose.
