Lisa Offield Cross passed away from cancer Dec 2, 2008. She had been treating for the last 4 years. She had 9 rounds of chemo, 3 surgeries, and 2 radiations. If you were around Lisa for a few min she would tell you how good God was to her even up to the very end. She passed away at our home in Navasota with family and friends at her side. She was never in any pain from the cancer. The cancer started in her breast and over the 4 years it moved to just about everywhere, including her brain. Doctors could not believe that she did not have any symptoms until the end as she had over 40 tumors to the brain. Lisa felt bad about missing the last class reunion. Thank you John and Joy Cross

I am shocked and saddened to hear about Lisa's death, although I hadn't seen her in 10 years, we use to be very close. I gave her a ride to work at Cox's on Belknap every day after lunch, which was usually Taco Plaza. We could eat lunch for $2.00. I was also part of her 1st wedding to Larry Atkins (class of 76). I had the pleasure of meeting her current husband at the 20 yr reunion and we caught up on old times. What a shame to lose such a young vibrant friend. My sincere sympathy to her family.Grady Gentry
