Comments:

I've been so busy since graduation as I'm sure you all have too. Russ and I celebrated our 25th anniversary last summer. I love being a mom to three great kids. My daughter Cayce has her Master's degree and will be a math teacher soon, my son Kent is in a very successful band called Forever the Sickest Kids. Their record will be out in April. My youngest Allie is just a sweet and smart 6th grader. Russ and I enjoy traveling, church activities and being with our friends.

School Story:

I have too many fun memories to list. One of my favorite times was 50's day. One year we all walked up to the Dairy Queen on Beach St and crammed about 20 people into a phone booth. Unfortunatly I was at the bottom and I looked up and someone sat on my face! We also had a Chinese firedrill out in front of the school in Marilyn Eastman's 1950's pink car.
Well, since I've read so many other funny stories I decided to add some to my list.
I remember middle school as such a fun time. Our teachers with the exception of math were pretty good. Mr. Andrucci was really good. Mr. Hobson scared me to death pounding on his desk with that giant ring. Even the parties we had were good, clean fun. We played spoons, danced the bump, and played the occasional game of spin the bottle.
High school memories that come to mind: Being excited my freshman year to be a talon and go to football games. Going to Burger's lake for the spring picnic was fun every year. One year it was so cold we all covered up with towels and didn't swim. It was also interesting to see what kind of trouble someone would think up. I remember getting on those big inner tubes with a bunch of friends and trying to stand up together. Of course we always fell and laughed so hard we'd nearly drown. I think we actually did it and Tim Spraggins came by and jumped on our tube.
One of my most embarrassing moments happened at lunch one day. We were sitting there eating and Glenda started to talk about "Gone With the Wind." So she said "When Rhett picks up Scarlett and carries her up the stairs I just want to stand up and scream!!!" Somehow that struck me funny and I had a mouth full of chocolate milk. I sprayed that milk all over everyone and I can admit it now, but I had a huge crush on Mike Waugh and he was sitting across from me and got it the worst. I remember everyone jumping up and screaming. I wanted to die.
One year we were playing Waco High and everyone was supposed to go to Springdale Baptist and ride the bus to the game in Waco. Naturally the bus broke down and no one could go. Me, Glenda and Lori were dying to go so we decided to go with anyone who would drive us. It ended up being Rosie Brown and also along for the ride was Patti Law. Now Rosie was tough and had a old clunker car with no air conditioning. She was smoking, cussing and had all the windows down and drove about 100 mph. Lori and I whispered to each other to figure a way out of this. We decided to try and find someone at the game (anyone) who would take us home. So sure enough we got there with about 5 minutes left in the game. We saw Tommy Littrell and Charlie Stogsdill and yelled "Please, please give us a ride." They said they would. We told Rosie we had dates so she wouldn't get mad at us and beat us up for not chipping in with the gas on the way home. Tommy had a real cool Nova and so we started back. I do remember going over 100 down I35 on the way back, but we weren't scared. Glenda wanted to kill us later for leaving her with Rosie and Patti and we should have included her. Glenda, I'm sorry.
On the subject of football games one night we were driving home from across town in my dad's baby blue Pinto. I had my friends all crowded in and we were on the freeway. Suddenly Larry Greenhaw's Maverick pulls up beside us. He honks the horn and we look over. What do we see but a big butt mooning us. It was Chris of course!!
One scary thing I remember was going to twin points with my cousin Lisa. We met up with Billy and Jamey and were just talking and having fun. I think it was Billy who felt something on his leg and it was a little girl who was drowning. The lifeguards pulled her out and took her to the hospital. I think she lived. If it was Billy who found her, then he saved her life.
I think most of you have already used up my memories of Pizza Inn, Napoleons, Spencer's Palace and the other clubs we went to and used a fake ID to get in. By the way, I used Cindy Grey's. Thanks for posting such funny memories to your profiles. They brought back such funny memories. My girlfriends from school are still close and I'm so glad. We still love to think back to the goofy, scary and wonderful fun we had.
