I think Kyle Gilliatt has some thoughts about the reunion and I've been trying to get him to post them here so that I'm not speaking for him. So keep your eyes out for that.

From Kyle Gilliatt:

Thanks to Mr. Webber for taking the time and effort to get this site up and running. As for our 10 year reunion, that will hopefully be a tad more enjoyable than the 5 year reunion (that we never had), I was thinking of offering my place of business as the host site. My wife and I own THE SPOT, which is a casual sports bar in Castleton, Indiana. I was thinking that we could have the reunion at the bar sometime in June.

I would love to have suggestions from everyone as to what your thoughts are on this idea; pros, cons, and what specifically everyone would expect.

Again, thanks so much to Luke for putting this site together and hopefully it will help us with the planning of our ten year reunion.

I'm looking forward to the 10 year mostly out of curiousity to see how much everybody's changed... or not changed... anyhow- I think Kyle's bar would be a great place to host the reunion-- better to have an MV grad host it then just rent some place we have no connection to... anyway- that's my two cents...

From Philip Mott:

Picture this.

We have it at the high school. We get the school to assign us freshmen lockers for the evening. We go to different class rooms and sit in desks waiting for our teachers to arrive and just talk about life, you know, like we actually did in high school. Then the bell rings and we have dinner on those cheap lunch trays, in the cafeteria; then we all ditch the school and go to the spot! Maybe we could even take a few school busses to the spot, this would be fun, stupid, and reminiscful(is that a word?) all at the same time.

From Cori Sharrett:

Can we get a fake bomb threat phoned in... or how about have the UnaPooper make a suprise appearance... some drug-sniffing K9s? It might be fun to have some water apparatI there also.

From Braden Sublett:

All of these ideas sound wonderful. However, I (and certainly many of our more poorly dressed classmates) would prefer the costume party aspect be optional.

From Philip Mott:

Braden, of course it would be an option to dress in your 90's attire, but believe me, you are not the only one who regrets outfits you wore! I'm assuming that you do regret some from your comment.

There can be a fun aspect of role playing back to our high school days but I don't want to put aside who we are now just for the sake of time travel. These are ideas that should be considered in the whole planning process.

From Adam Detamore:

Hey everyone! Thanks for the site Luke... I've accomplished nothing the last 2 hours thanks to you. HAHA

Having the reunion at The Spot sounds good to me. I gotta go check it out, sorry I haven't yet. Live music is good. I say we have a golf outing during the day. That could be fun. Whatever's clever. I'll be there.

From Jennifer McElfresh Ervine:

OK...I know this might be out of the question for some people. I thought I would give my thoughts just to say that I did.

When I was a kid I remember my mom attending one of her reunions. The way they did it was to turn it into a two day thing. On a Friday or Saturday evening the alumni and their significant other went to dinner, or drinks, or something adult-like (I don't know exactly what they did) and then the next day they had a pitch-in picnic at the local state park for everyone to meet the family.

Now I don't know anything about The Spot. (Sorry) I'm assuming that being a "sports bar" that it is more of an adult place anyway. Personally I think it would be awesome to see everyone's family.

Just my opinion though. I just thought I'd throw another idea into the brainstorm. Whatever is decided is fine by me. <:o)

From Brooke Spriestersbach Heck:

I think Phil's idea is awesome... that would be so funny to be back in the school and sitting in those class rooms... I haven't actually been back inside the actual building for years.

The committee had its first meeting on Sunday. As a result, there is now a new link at the top of the menu on the left-hand side of the page for the reunion where you can read sort of a recap of the meeting, and most importantly, show your interest in attending the reunion by filling out the form at the bottom of the page.

So please check it out and feel free to send me any thoughts, ideas or concerns.

Thanks,
Luke
