I heard that he died in a car accident, but wasn't able to find anything to back that up.

Yup - I heard this summer from Matt Webber, a McCordsville police officer and my brother in law, about Shawn. I had just come home from my third deployment. It goes to show how careful we all have to be. Life isn't owed, its earned.

By the way, the posts about Taulman were correct. More importantly is that he left a son. If I may I would encourage anyone who reads this to honor both of them by making a donation in Shawn's name to the Autism Society of America.
