Reunion Meeting Summary - 3/2/09
Posted Tuesday, July 28, 2009 12:52 PM

The Reunion Committee of myself, Kyle Gilliatt, Adam Detamore, Kevin Harvey, Matt McConnell, Cori Sharrett & Stacy Webber (Greulich) met for the first time Sunday and started talking about some of the preliminary plans for the upcoming reunion.

First and foremost, we started talking about a date and location for the event. As you know, Kyle owns a bar in Castleton called The Spot, and he said he would be more than willing to try and accommodate us. So at this point in time, we are certainly planning on holding it at The Spot, but there are still many details that will need to be worked out down the road.

Next was the all important date, and after some discussions, we have targeted the evening of Saturday, November 28th. And for those of you that aren't looking that far ahead, that day is the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. The group picked this weekend for a variety of reasons, but most importantly because there will be more than one reason to be in town that weekend with the holiday, it is a four day weekend for most of us, and it is hopefully far enough in advance that it will give everyone plenty of time to get it on their schedule and hopefully increase the number of people that can attend. Also, for future reunions, the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend could become our traditional date so that everyone will know to reserve that date every five years!

So the goal over the next few months is to get as many classmates signed up on this site as possible - we still have about 100 missing classmates - and then to get those classmates that are planning on attending the reunion to fill out the form below to help us in our planning for the event (every classmate can bring a date, so please be sure to include your date to help us better estimate the total number of possible attendees). Then as we start to get a better idea of the number of people we can expect to attend, we can start working on more specific details such as food, drinks, cost, etc. Eventually, we'd like to send out more formal invitations with the exact details, so please make sure your contact information is current and correct!

So that about covers the first meeting. Feedback and ideas are welcome - just send Luke a message.

And be sure to spread the word to others and to sign yourself and your date up for the reunion!
