WOW!

I went and toured MV yesterday, with all of its new additions. It won't even resemble the Mt. Vernon we went to at all when it is done!! It is impressive, but sad at the same time as most of the old MV is un-recognizable.

They have built it so that adding on in the future (a high probability) will be easy. They've taken out windows, bleachers, locker rooms, the entire science hallway. They've added a completely new wing of Social Studies, Science, Art, and Math rooms, as well as a refreshed version of "The Marauder Dome" with another basketball court and new locker rooms. The band room is now (what I've heard) 5 square feet larger than the gymnasium. The new cafeteria (located back where the science rooms used to be)is huge, but won't be completed until later this year. It is crazy all the things they have done and have yet to do by August 13.

If they ever do a public open house, I really encourage you to check it out! Kids who attend Mt. Vernon in the future will be fellow Marauders, but they will have completely different memories of MVHS than we do...
