CAROL WEYRICH

For the last 18 years I have been living in Apalachicola, Florida, a small community in the Panhandle on the Gulf of Mexico. I have been teaching in the public school for 20 yrs, and taught in a Montesouri school before that. I still adore the beach and go to St. George Island as often as I can.
Just retired from Franklin County School District, now I am working with "X" renovating buildings in downtown Apalachicola. My son Hampton still living in Austin beginning a new venture in glass blowing. Daughter Merrill lives in Apalachicola and is hosting the Apalachicola Riverfront Film Festival (check it out on web.) Retired from teaching in 2012 and renovating a historic building in downtown Apalachicola. May 11, 2015, my granddaughter Keagen Parker was born.

I left after my Freshman year at BHS, moving to Boulder, Colorado. I remember having a feeling of culture shock as the Vietnam War was raging and many students were involved in the Peace Movement. A far shot from Surfside Beach! I eventually returned to the Gulf Coast, just a bit further eastward. Graduated from Northern Arizona University with a dual degree in Education/Special Ed. Received a master's degree from West Florida University in Ed. Leadership/Curriculum Development.
