CAROLYN BOLEY COX

I took extra classes the summer of 1969 so I could finish early. For some reason I wanted to get married in February. I did and had a child in 1972. Got a divorce in 1974. Remarried and had three more children. My husband died in 1986. I stayed single a long time. Moved to Colorado in 1992. Met David Cox and married him in 2000. We moved to Texas in 2001 and then Tennesse in 2008. We do historical reenactments. Mostly rev war and earlier. My husband builds black powder guns and knives. I have 8 grandchildren all living in Texas. I go about 5 times a year and see them. When we lived in Texas we did a lot of Texas rev reenactments. Needless to say I have learned a lot more about history in the past 20 years than I ever did in school. Go figure! Well, a lot has happened in the last two years. I have custody of two grandkids. A 13 year old girl and a 6 year old boy. needless to say, they have totally changed our lives. A year ago we decided to move back to Texas to be closer to family. Right after Christmas I fell and broke my leg. Had surgery twice. Spent 3 weeks in a nursing home because my husband and grandkids were still in Tennessee. Spent 3 months in a wheelchair. It's been a zoo! But we are in Elkhart. Close to my dad, who is 90. One daughter and one son. Life's a Dance!

I got out of school in January of 1970. All I liked was 1/2 credit in English. Took the first in the summer of 1969. And of course there was not enough of us to have it that fall, so there was no class. Finally went and got my GED. So I missed walking down with everyone else. But I liked school. Took a lot of different classes, some I liked some I didn't. If I had it to do all over again, I would have stayed in school. That's the only thing in my life I would change.
