Bobby was so damn funny. In second or third grade my mom chaperoned a field trip to the Detroit Historical Museum. Bobby Smith, Bobby Hall and Jimmy Meyers were in our group. After the trip, my mom called it the 'hysterical' museum. Bobby organized a wild west shoot out in the old fashioned town down in the basement. I still have the pictures. I think it is the only field trip I remember!

I didn't have much interaction with Bobby after Maplewood...we were headed different ways...but I will NEVER forget how hard he made me laugh that day.

RIP

So sad to hear this. Does anyone know what happened to Bob? Bob and I (Loretta Pluhar) were such good friends through all of our school years - elementary, junior high and high school. I can remember Bob and I were always class clowns and laughing together. In fifth grade they finally got smart and separated the two of us for sixth grade (had him in every class but 6th grade). All of you remember that laughing keeps you young and when you quit laughing you will grow old fast. Life is short so forgive, forget and accept everyone for what they are. Our hearts go out to his loved ones. May peace be found for him and his family.

Bob was awesome. My most told story involving Bob, was one night we were hanging out (by "we" I mean the usual group hanging out around the Methodist Church, Me, Bob, Rick Alexander, Billy Johnson, Wayne Page, Tracey Kelly, and my little brother Rob. There was a boy scout meeting going on, we decided to knock on the basement windows just to mess with them. (We were such trouble makers, LOL) Bob used his foot, and broke the window, we all scattered...my little brother, being the smallest and slowest, got caught. I went back. We both got taken down to the GC police dept. Sitting in the interegation room, I could here the TV. The Atlanta Braves baseball game was on, and then I heard..."Here's the pitch to Hank Aaron...he swings...it is going going, it IS GONE, HANK AARON HAS JUST BROKEN BABE RUTHS ALL TIME HOME RUN RECORD!!!" Bob told me later that is the exact time that the phone rang, it was the GC police and they wanted to talk to Bob. (I had squealed). Bob was the glue to the neighborhood.
