Golf courses are so sexist when it comes to men's apparel......I wanted to wear my tank top.

:)

No speedos!! Dang, I was going to go with the cousin Eddy look from "Christmas Vacation".

Pat, you'll have to park your RV somewhere else.

Do your Cousin Eddie white shoes have golf spikes on them??

Sounds like Wootons dress code our Senior year. Remember the miniskirts Howard and I wore the last day of school?
Auburn Hills has cold water at every 3rd hole.
Golfers need to know that Auburn Hills has a main golfing clubhouse on 135th, but also has many neighborhood clubhouses like the one we are having reunion in. If anyone gets lost, call me at 308-2841. Does anyone have signs for the 2 turns to get the the reunion clubhouse, maybe ballons to tie on the street signs?

Tried playin here at suppesville last week only lasted a few holes (prob cause i still suck) anyway see whoever on friday and the rest of you on sat!

Kurt, I see that you added a kindergarten class photo to your profile. That just reminds me of how much trouble that pm class was. Looks like a police lineup. The am class always had to prop you guys up.

Hey Jim love the K-Jr high class pictures, man we were a stylish group! Ha love the transition from straight bangs to the middle part feathered look!

Hey everybody! After finally figuring out my computer problems...I have a good laugh for everyone.
Go over to my profile and check out all of our class pictures from K-8th grades. Thank God we have all changed with the times. See if you can spot the many things that I have noticed and laughed at! We will try and head towards GP for the Friday Night activities and then we will see you all tomorrow night for the evening activities.

Sorry to always be all business and no fun, but I have 3 people who indicated on there profile that they were coming (some have canceled and already told me about it) who haven't paid which puts us $100 short to pay for catering and rent. Hope they show up with money, but if not, that's not too bad of planning. If we have a bunch of leftovers we can take them to the Lord's Diner to feed the homeless

Huh, one thing I noticed is that I wore the same shirt for grade 1 & 2 portraits (shouldn't my parents have prevented this from happening??). Looks like I may have cut the sleeves off for the grade 2 pic at least. Thanks Jim.

Yes, IHOP was well needed at 3 AM! Country Fried Steak and eggs!!

Great seeing everyone. Those who didn't make it, hope to see you next time!

And, thanks to Paul, Pat, Belinda, Steph and anyone else (sorry if I'm forgetting someone) for organizing this event! It was a great time!

Pat, you get a gold star and a piece of candy from Mrs. Jobe's desk for your 1980's mixing skills on the laptop!!!

3 am?!! Who was still up at 3 am? Ha!

Justin and I were having a conversation on the way home, and this is what he said...
"You don't know how unusual it is for a class to be so close. You guys can not see each other for years, but pick up right where you left off. I have never seen any class as close as yours. They even make me feel like a part of the class."
He also said that you guys could take your one liners on the road. Ha!

Anyway, I think it says a lot for our class when others notice what a great group we are! :)Ha! Now, if only our offspring will be as great! :)

Needless to say, Belinda, I am sleep deprived from this past weekend, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. What a great time.

I agree with Justin and Belinda. It has been 20 yrs since I walked out of the GPHS gym with my diploma running towards Lawrence, and this weekend was just like it was yesterday. I'm amazed at everyone's memories, and how many "little things" people recalled. I enjoyed conversations with everyone, meeting spouses and kids, and reminiscing over the old days. Seeing Mr. Brown and Mr. Lippoldt was a special treat, as well. It was fun talking basketball strategy with Mr. Lippoldt! We both decided that while zone was more effective in Jr. High BB, man-to-man was the way to go! (I know, boring)

This website will be a great way to keep up-to-date with everyone, and communicate about get-togethers, etc.

Jim, those K-8 pictures are great!
You guys all started out pretty cute. ;o)

Thanks to everyone who took part in the planning - it was a hit. I was especially glad to be there and thoroughly enjoyed the entire event! Kudos to you all; maybe you can plan my next wedding; this was more fun :)

I was talking to a friend of mine on the way back from the dr today and he asked about the reunion and told me about his which had lots of events planned, lots of functions and little time to relax, talk or catch up. I laughed and told him that our class was so much more laid back - I told him the activities that were planned were a hit, but that our class was one that enjoyed one another's company so much that we spent most of the time reminiscing, catching up and laughing - we did not need a million activities to keep up together till the wee hours of the am (yeah you guessed it - I had breakfast with the boys too). He was perplexed and said his class could not have been satisfied with that and did not understand the elation and joy about the event I relayed! Just another example: Our class was pretty damn cool!!

For those interested: Dr was very pleased with the recoup of my back. He expects me to be out of the brace completely in 2 weeks and is positive about a full recovery with no major complications in the future! I cannot tell you how relieved I am and THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PRAYED FOR ME - it obviously helped (yes Menis, I probably needed the prayers)!

Some of us talked about getting together at Thanksgiving or Christmas - I hope we do! I would love to see all of you again!

If you see me in the future with a bigger brace, it will not be real - only a ploy to get the sponge bath I was promised :)

Varsity,

I can promise you that you'll get no such sponge bath from me!!! Kurt may oblige you, though.

Joel,

I am so glad you got a good report!! You'd have been to stubborn to have any long term lasting effects from this! Ha!

I vote for getting together around Christmas. We'll be in Mexico over Thanksgiving for the Griswold family vacation!

Joel,
That's great. Glad to hear you're on the path to a speedy recovery. Don't lose that brace though. I hate for you to miss out on a chance at some sympathy tail.

Joel, I'm not convinced that you ever had a back injury. I think you were just expecting to get your sympathy sponge bath right there at the reunion. Well I for one am certainly not that easy.

Seriously, that's great news. Glad you're well on your way to recovery.

To all, I've added Rhonda's 80's pics to the 1980 Something site. Go there for a good laugh.

p.s. I agree that the reunion was a great time, and hopefully we can get together again over the holidays to share a few more Old Mils.

07/29/08 12:59 PM #160

Todd Chapple

Yes, Kurt, thanks for the Old Mils. I thought they would taste worse than Girls Light, but they actually weren't that bad!

We may be in FLA over Thanksgiving, so I would vote/opt for over Christmas, as well.

Yes, Varsity was faking it. I saw him running a 5K on the highway yesterday.

Oh wait, he hasn't run 5K total in his life.

:)

Nice to see my heartfelt message was met with the typical skepticism and and doubt I expected :) You guys are great and I got a good chuckle out of this responses. Thanksgiving or Christmas works for me - after a few hour being at Kay's she wants me to leave anyway :)

07/29/08 07:22 PM #162

Michelle Hopkins (Shanks)

It's so good to see that this message board doesn't stop when the reunion is over. I only wish that I had been able to suck it up and stay out with the IHOP crew. I'm too old, anyway, and pancakes at 3 in the morning are not as kind to me as they used to be. :) We will be in town for Christmas, but in Cincinnati for thanksgiving. I'm definitely in for something fun. No golf- but then again - maybe snow would help my game?

Kurt, I hope you enjoyed your cinnamon toothpicks!!

Stephanie Mies (Seiler)

On a different note...KUDOS to you parents! Your kids were very well-behaved on Saturday! What a great job you are all doing, keep up the fabulous job!

Good to hear your news Joel and glad you haven't lost your faith in prayer, I'll continue to pray for you!

Christmas works for me, sounds terrific.

Michelle the toothpicks were great it brought back a lot of memories You may have just begun a tradition with my kids a Maize schools. I thought that was a cleaver and fitting gift for the era. I only hope you saved some for your self. Thanks again.

Joel I'm so glad your recovery is progressing so well. Now I won't feel so bad when your new nick name (Turtle) sticks like glue, even if we're not in school anymore. And yes it will stick................. Oh ya you'll get no sponge baths from me, try calling Bev or Tonto!!!!!!

I want to thank Paul, Belinda, Steph and Pat for organizing a killer reunion. Paul tell Mandy thanks for her help. The food was great as well as the clubhouse. Belinda the web-site made the reunion the success it was, thanks a lot. Steph thanks for helping out and the bringing all the old memorabilia. Pat you've seemed to have strepped your DJ skills up a notch with the new technology.

I had a great time visiting with everyone. Kurt

Hey Todd are you finished smoking that cigar yet?
