Milton S. Boyd, 1925 - 2002.  Milt Boyd passed away on Feb. 19, after a long battle with colon cancer. Born in Moline, IL, he served with the 289th Engineer Battalion in WWII, worked for 15 years in radio and television in the Midwest, then moved his family to Gig Harbor, WA where he taught at Peninsula High School for 23 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; their six children: Pam, Preston, Libby, David, Nancy and Howard, their spouses; his brother-in law, George Lamb and wife; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews - the proverbial #cast of thousands#. His service to his community through Lions Club, church, local theatres and Gold Wing Road Riders motorcycle club led to the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce twice naming him Citizen of the Year (1994 and 1999). Mere days before his passing, the Gig Harbor Lions Club established the Milt Boyd Performing Arts Award to support young performers.
