Ernest Miller

Longtime Gig Harbor area (Rosedale) resident Ernest L. Miller, 97, died March 10, 2003 in his home.   Mr. Miller was born March 15, 1905 in Tacoma, WA.  After marriage to Evelyn Miller, they lived in Tacoma, Alaska and finally Rosedale.  He died in the home he built in Rosedale.  Mr. Miller was a coach, teacher, gardener, mechanic and, most of all, a father to his two children, seven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.  He was a long time member of the Gig Harbor Methodist Church, was a founding member of the Peninsula FISH group, and community leader in many areas.  Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers, his wife
Evelyn in 1996 and his two daughters, Patricia Barker and Virginia Dostert Woodward, in 1990.  He is survived by all his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
