Favorite GBS Memories Posted Monday, April 27, 2009 10:58 AM My personal moment in the sun was when I was voted Most Accident Prone for the Class of 68. My mother was horrified and was convinced this would ruin me forever in terms of social acceptance into civilized society! I'd guess my best memories are thanks to the Music Department and all our choruses and state competitions. We were really good! I can still remember the stage set for the Madrigals doing "Amahl and the Night Vistors", and I still have a scar from tripping on a log. My favorite teacher had to be Dr. Schnell. Least favorite: I can't remember his name but he was some rotund little twerp/coach who also taught drivers ed and gave me a D- in behind the wheel (the only grade below a B I got in 4 years). Then he had the audacity to tell me this was "a gift". I have lots of other memories, but innocent parties would have to be dragged into it :) |

RE: Favorite GBS Memories Posted Friday, April 13, 2018 03:25 PM Ahh, Nancy, must have been Coach Pearson, the wrestling coach. He caught me selling tickets to ride the bus to an away football game and asked me how come girls never showed up to wresting meets. He offered me and any other girls I could round up the "opportunity" to pass drivers ed. So we "volunteered" to score at a home tournament and rented a bus to a couple of away meets and all got B's as I recall, which in my case was a present. Don't know how you misses the "opportunity." Favorite GBS Memories Posted Tuesday, June 12, 2018 09:45 PM Wow, favorite memories. Ok, the very first memory I called up was I sat at the table of nerds. I know I was living to be invisible back in those days. We didn't fit in anywhere else so we were glad to have each other. I am eager to catch up with them, I know we all went places after graduation. The second memory was going to graduation. I had gotten myself a lovely, sofisticated dress. ONLY, it had a very wavy kind of wired, stiff neckline. So when I put the graduation gown on over my dress, it raised the front of the gown up as if I had impossibly immense breasts. I was horrified. I didn't know what to do. Finally, I decided to chuck the dress and triumphantly, proudly graduated, giggling to myself because I was almost naked under the gown. I know I had a huge grim as they called my name and no one knew why. My favorite teacher was the history teacher. I loved that rebel yell of his. He had a way of telling stories so I actually could see what he was saying. He made history come alive for me. |
