In view of the recent deaths in our class, I thought I would come share more about my life at Glenbrook South.....and some of my life since high school.
Why, because I don't want someone here to say "she was a very nice person."
As a kid, my family moved to different states at age 10, age 14 and sophomore year...As I again attended yet another new school in a different state, I realize now, I had given up trying to make new friends.....I didn't allow most of you to know me. I wasn't a cheerleader or a sports figure in the school. My clothes didn't measure up, so, it was easy to hide in plain sight.... I sat at the table of nerds, grateful to feel accepted.....by someone.
I wasn't relating to most of you, I was feeling invisible...
I chose to do nothing about this, because I felt I didn't fit in.
I would love to see what happened to the rest of my friends who sat at the nerds table....we were a group, weren't we???
So, who am I today?
I am an elder at a Native American tribe in missouri. I have been helping folks heal since I was 5 years old. I have 25 years mental health experience under my belt , which is how I help folks heal.
Currently, I am the second elder, (there are only 2). I am the holy woman of our tribe...
I am also studying to become a Peruvian Shaman.
I will complete that course next may. I am engaged to a wonderful man from ohio... It is so rare to find some who matches you, I'm thrilled I did.
Interesting that I will again become a mother of 2 teenagers at almost 70...Grin. I love kids and have adopted sons and daughters from around the world, that I am in contact with frequently.
You will find, I do not have normal stories, cuz God has sent me to so many countries, not on my dime.
I accompanied my mother, On a cruise around the world, after my stepfather dropped dead after paying for the cruise in full and dying 1 week later.
That trip was 35 countries, 30,000 ocean miles, and 3 1/2 months long. I chose to write about what we did each day, our english teacher would be very proud of my writing skills.
I was told after I returned, "Susie, thank you so much for sharing your journey with me. I could feel it, see it, taste it and I thank you for taking me with you."
