If anyone is interested in being a Class officer for the Goldsboro High School (GHS) Class of 1980, then submit your name and the intent position you are applying for: President, Vice President, Recording Secretary, Treasurer and Parliamentarian. All candidates have to be dedicated and committed to the position. Also, all candidates have to register for the 45th Class Reunion and be in attendance at the Banquet.
The Alumni Class Officers will serve a 5-year term. They have many responsibilities which include planning the events and reunion, keeping classmates connected and informed, maintaining alum information files, making bequests, and publishing updates and newsletters.
The Reunion Class President and Vice President have to write a brief statement of why he or she wants to be president or vice president of the class.
Reunion Class President/Vice President needs to answer the question: Why do I want to be the Reunion Class President? I am committed and dedicated to (relevant value or goal of the class) and am excited about the opportunity to (specific contribution you hope to make).
The letter of intent is all about showing that you’re thrilled about the job—a way to express your passion for the position and the class. This personal touch helps you connect with the class. It’s your opportunity to demonstrate that you understand the class’s values and the unique aspects of the position.
Example: I am writing to express my interest in the (Job Title) position for Goldsboro High School Class of 1980, as advertised on the GHS Class of 1980 website.
I am committed and dedicated to (relevant value or goal of the class) and am excited about the opportunity to (specific contribution you hope to make).
Office Candidate Responsibilities
Reunion Class President: Your key responsibilities revolve around planning and executing the reunion, maintaining class connection, and representing the class to the broader alumni community. This includes tasks like organizing events, communicating with classmates, and collaborating with alumni relations. Have a vision for the class.
Reunion Vice President: Your primary responsibilities revolve around supporting the class president and acting as a key liaison for the class, including coordinating reunion planning, maintaining communication, and fostering class engagement.
A Recording Secretary's primary responsibilities to meticulously document and maintain records of meetings, ensuring accurate minutes are taken and distributed, and to manage chapter records and correspondence.
A nonprofit Treasurer oversees all aspects of an organization's finances, including financial planning, reporting, and compliance, while also providing financial expertise and advice to the board.
A Parliamentarian's primary responsibility is to advise on parliamentary procedure, ensuring meetings are conducted fairly and according to rules, often acting as a consultant for the presiding officer and members.

Remember, all candidates have to register for the 45th Class Reunion and be in attendance at the Banquet on Saturday night, May 24, 2025. Deadline for candidates notification is May 19, 2025. Deadline for the 45th Class Reunion fee is May 3, 2025.
