Posted a couple of field biology pictures (May 1997) in my profile if interested. See everyone on Friday nite.
Looking for ideas of what to do between Friday and Saturday events....I'm not a golfer, so I'm leaning towards waterskiing the Red River ~ anyone have a boat?

Hi all,
Can't make it to reunion after all. Sorry to hear about Sully:( Also my mom just informed me that Mr. Jacobson (Pete's father) passed away. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, Pete. Enjoyed the joke, Scott! Hope you all have a wonderful reunion and I'll be thinking of you! Janelle

Hey Eric (and any other Roosevelt Elementary alum),

I believe that "red-head" teacher, to whom you refer in your remembrance posting for Jeff Gunderson, was Mrs. Ratzlaff. Between her and Mrs. Mower, I don't know whose face would get redder in their frustrations with the impudent group of young individuals impersonating grade-school students.
Speaking of GF elemenentary schools, does anyone know how many are not now residential properties?

Hi Rod,

Roosevelt, Washington and South Jr. are all apartments now. Who knows which school will be next.

Hi Diane.

Wow! What a good time with some great people! I had so much fun. I am really sorry I did not get a chance to visit with some of you. And I am sorry I did not get a chance to visit with some of you more. The Ramada and the Country Club had wonderful food. Those who did the arrangements, Thanks again. You all did a great job. Let's all try to keep in touch. Ten years is too long.

I would just like to say Thanks to Pam (Meagher) Kvidt, Lora (Holman) Marchant, Cindy (Everson) Gapp, Rae Ann Hanson, & Paul Gilburt for all your efforts in organizing a wonderful reunion! The photos, news clippings, & Yearbooks were just the right touch to bring me back to our Senior Year of 1979. I can only imagine the time and effort you put in to make everyone feel so welcome and comfortable. I know everyone there appreciated it & all you did.

Seeing the Best Friends: Dave Aamot, Becky Bridston, Pete (Jake) Jacobson, Scott Montgomery, & Pat Perrone; Hockey Teammates: Barry Bartholomay, Jerry Hillier, Rob Johnson, Brian Sand, & Jim Vilandre; Hockey Cheerleaders: Doreen Conley, Cindy Everson, Julie Spivak (I missed you and Terry that first night), & Colleen Whalen; along with the South Jr./RRR connection: Lori Liddy, Christy Pladson, Cheri Vakoc, and Carrie & Jeff Wilson was very special to me.

Time and distance may separate so many of us these days. But wherever I may go & whatever I may do, in my mind's eye I inevitably come back to GFC at some point and the relationships I grew up with. Seeing & talking to everyone really brought me back home. You made that happen for all of us, and for that I Thank You, very much...

Mike Stahl...

So sorry I couldn't make the reunion. Sounds like you guys had fun. I am appreciating seeing pictures, on here and some on facebook.
Big change of subject...do any of you remember John Bakke? He went to Valley Junior but not sure if he went to Central or moved. I think I saw an obituary for him in the GF Herald a few years ago. He died in a house fire in California. Does anyone else know or remember hearing about it? And, if true, do we want to put him on our Memory page?

07/31/09 05:59 PM #62

Kim Grinde (Greendahl)

Thanks for the reminder Margie. John did die many years ago. I don't remember all the details but he was living in California, as you said. He could be frustrating at times but I remember that he had a good heart, fun sense of humor and was loved by his family.

Thanks Kim and Margie!
I will add John to the Memory page. Any time someone knows of a classsmate that passes away let me know and I will add them to that page. I'll include that details that Margie had, if anyone recalls at least the year I'd like to be able to add that too.

Jimmy V. told me about John earlier this spring. We have lost too many so young. I remember him from Valley. Kim Grinde- That is a name from many, many, years ago!

I remember John playing razzle dazzle football in Gym. When he had the ball he was tough to get down, so I was asked to jump in front of his legs way too many times. I thought for sure he was going to deck me. But instead he just smiled..

John Bakke died Nov. 23, 2003 in San Joaquin, CA. He was 43.

John, that's because Washington Elementary was a long, long time ago. More that 40 years. I've been thinking about the people I went to elementary school with that passed away too early. Sandy Lommen died before the first reunion. Dusty Fortier was the same. I believe a McKeever sister also passed away early. It seems like just yesterday we were building forts and learning to color in Mrs. Miller's kindergarden class.

Brian Sand (Brians@gra. Midco. Net)

I am finally getting around to this. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to Rae Ann, Pam, Cindy, Lora, and anyone else involved in making this year's reunion a success. It was fun to visit with some of the folks who I haven't seen in 30 years. Wow has time gone by. It was a lot of fun.

Somehow we need to get together before the 40 year or before we all turn the big 50. I don't know how we could do this, but I am sure we could figure out something.

Take care everyone and we will see you the next time around.

My sister's class ('77)had a 50th birthday party for all who could attend. I think it was in the fall last year. They just got together at the country club for an evening.

Renae Lee (Bullinger)

Hey, Everyone, this is Renae Lee. I am so glad everyone had so much fun at the 30th Class Reunion. I decided at the last minute, I was too tired from driving from the Indian Reservation with a couple of VA VET Buddies. I was not much in the mood to socialize after that trip, but hopefully we can all get together and have a big "50" Birthday Bash Celebration somewhere!

Kim, I remember Sandy, and I knew Dusty. Is Lynn McKeever the sister you mentioned? Ray, would have been nice to see you and Diane but hopefully the next time. Haven't gotten my pictures developed yet, but I'll post them if it works out. I spent more time talking . A 50th sounds good

hey everybody! i am very sad that i missed out on the reunion, and everyone i've spoken to said it was a blast. i had a family vacation planned that i was unable to change around thus the reason i missed it. the enthusiasm, warm sentiments, and genuine friendship i've seen on this forum are palpable, and 2019 seems like a very long time away. i'm not sure if it's been given consideration, but given that it was a combined reunion with the Red River class, what about a 35 year reunion? it sounds as though there would enough interest from everyone to make it worthwhile.
