Michelle Dubuque (Shumate)

Hi Everyone!

I was thinking that it would be fun to dress 80's for Friday night. What does everyone else think?

I am having fun with this website, too. Thanks to everyone who has helped with the reunion!

See you soon,
Michelle

Awe, Michelle! I don't have my "80's hair" anymore! :-) Great idea! I would have no idea of what to wear. I don't know that I dressed "80's" even in the 80's. Hmm, I suppose I could TRY to pull off the metal band look. LOL.

I think most of the guys can round up a pair of 501's, a black 80's hair band tshirt and an untied pair of hightops. What about the girls?

Sorry also to hear about your family tragedy Stacie!!! That's horrible and I'm so sorry.

80's style: All ladies need is a LOT of hair spray, rat tail comb, banana clip, a little Madonna in the old days look and we're good to go! LOL

Can you believe that the neon stuff and old Madonna is coming back??? Leg warmers are now in stores - OMG!

Just an FYI, if people would prefer to pay for the reunion by credit card, I have opened a paypal account so you can now do so (thanks to Scott Carlson for his assistance on this). You will need to add $2.19 to cover the service charge, however. My email address for payment is darinbarker@yahoo.com. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to contact me. Thanks.

I see Renee Mikkelson has been added to the "In Memory" page. Does anybody have any other info as to what happened?

Thanks.

Kim,

I spoke with her husband and apparently Renee lost a battle with brain cancer about 3 years ago. Very, very sad news. That was the first call I have made where I was completely taken aback.

Thanks Michelle! That had to be a very hard phone call to be on the end of. I only wish I would have known at the time. What was her married name if you don't mind? I'd like to try and google the obit.

Thanks.

Renee's last name was Fredericksen. If you find it, please let me know. Thanks!

Ok the news about Renee is sad. :(
We have lost a total 4 classmates to young in my book. I'm bad at placing a name without a face so we should add Pictures of our departed classmates on here so we can all place them. Also might I add that come the reunion maybe we could have a picture of all the angels now so that at least in spirit they attended their class 20.

If this shows up twice....sorry but my first post didn't appear for some reason.

If anyone needs to refresh their memory on what Renee looks like I have some photo's of her in my profile.

Randy.....if it's not too difficult maybe you could post a photo on the memory page for those that have passed away. It could either be from the year book or a personal one that one of us may have. It would also be nice if we can collect the obits and post them on that page as well.

Just a thought......

Hi,
I was just reading the Grand Forks Herald and I noticed that Mr. Johnson, math teacher at Central, past away. He was a very good teacher and I totally loved his grading scale.

Thats so sad I had Mr. Johnson for Algebra needless to say I failed that class so come my senior year I had him again for a math class, Thank God not in algebra. We got along much better in that class.
:)

You know as a teenage you forget that your teachers are human just like us. They have family issuses, bad days ect. Mr. Johnson rest in peace, God Bless you for being a teacher even if some of your students just didn't see the light. Tammy

Tammy,
Thank you for posting this information! He was a good teacher and was strict when needed. You're right....we forget our teachers were human too! Wouldn't it be great if the class of '88 filled the guest book the funeral home has online with well wishes for his family!
Being away from GF I miss knowing these things, so thanks for keeping us all up to date!
Merissa
