So looking forward to seeing everyone...I am getting too excited to get back to No Dak...OMG, did I just say that? We need to solidify plans for the Saturday night get together, asap. Some people might be traveling and not have computer access. I am just concerned that all the last minute ideas might confuse the plans and leave some people out without knowing what is happening. Again, I am just grateful that so many people are planning on getting together to visit and catch up! I could care less whether we were at the DQ or Taco John's as long as we all get together (wearing tube tops!) Oh wait, DQ and TJ's don't serve alcohol....nix that last idea!

Jennifer,

I'd be interested. I'm in a couple days ahead of the official festivities.

I just called the former Holiday Inn on Gateway, now the Clarion. They said there was no block of rooms for our reunion. Does anyone know anything about this?

I have a question. At the end of our senior year, people involved with the AV class (club) videotaped interviews of members of the senior class. Does anyone know if that videotape still exists? I remember Nathan Krenelka and Jerry Krueger ran the video equipment. If anyone knows of the tape's existence, it might be amusing (and painful) to watch it.

Steve Little has info on that.

...So does a strapless shirt count as a tube top? lol I want in on those free drinks Mike! :) Cant wait for next weekend! Safe travels to everyone- see you soon!

The tube top idea has me afraid... very afraid... Maybe i need to research tube tops but i remember them to be stretchy strips of material big enough to cover just the boob-area... I never had boobs in high school and I sure as heck dont have them now so stretching a glorified wrist band around my mid-section sounds down right humiliating. Sorry Kids, I will not be participating in the tube top-a-thon, however, i look forward to those of you brave enough to sport the buggers.

On another note, lots of people get all hyped up over reunions for fear people will be full of themselves etc... I'm proud to say our class of 1989 seems more united and real than it ever has been... the proof is in the pudding but so far it's all good. Thanks to those of you who put it all together!

See ya in a few days...

I had to go to the judges about official definition of 'tube top'. While there are varying degrees and definitions, the following was offered as the official designation for this party.

Tube top:
A woman's strapless knit or smocked top that wraps about the body like a tube. This sexy look has evolved from its original 1970s iconic status in disco dressing, now offering breezy elegance for warm days and nights.

Kym, in this case I believe yours will count :-)

Mike "breezy elegance"

Mike,
I have figured out the mysterious definition of a tube top. You will have to wait until Friday night to be enlightened :) . I will be utilizing one :)

Carmen,
Friday night I will have a tube top for you that you will be proud to sport.

For those that may be interested in having a one of a kind tube top for the reunion, there will be an opportunity to win one.

See you soon,

Lainie

Did anyone decide on a "pre-party" yet? Wednesday or Thursday...or both? :)

Goodness Lanie!

Friday night sure has taken a turn and I like it! Anyone attending that has NOT been following this forum sure is going to be surprised :-)

I second Kym's question about any pre-parties? I'm open to whatever though I'm more free on Thirsty Thursday.

Today is the day! I hope everyone is excited. The plans are set, people are in town and it time to celebrate with old friends. 20 years......it really doesn't seem that long ago. I would like to thank Lainie, Becky and Jen for all of their hard work. Things may not have gone exactly how we planned from the beginning but I am sure we are going to have a great time. Monessa, you did do something, you reserved hotel rooms. Thank you for doing that.

On another note we need to decide if we want to continue to do reunions every 10 years or change to every 5. And unless I live in the city of GF or EGF I will not be planning again. It's to hard to do from Buffalo, MN when your kids are in activities all school year. So, maybe we need to have people sign up to be the next reunion committee.

Thank you to all for all of your support on the planning of this event. And thanks to all who attend. Can't wait to see everyone.

Brenda

Thank you planning comittee for making our reunion a blast. Also thank you to Kym and Jim and Casey and Danika. Everyone was very accomodating. The slideshow and awards were a great way to learn a little more about our classmates. Gusto award - good end to the program and the perfect man to hand out the award. Thanks Mark.

I would like to see you all in 5 years!!!!

It's been a year+, Tonia, but you are very welcome, as with everyone else.

I'm a little sad/amazed that it's been over a year since Tube-top/GrinderFest '09.

Is there any plans on a 35th reunion?  Doesn't look like anything has been discussed since the 20th.
