So here it goes. My first attempt at posting. I will start off by saying happy new year to everyone and hope everyone is in good spirits with healthy lives and families! I wanted to post a memory of my times at Central...one word...remodeling! Anyone remember the noise of work outside our classrooms or the dust filled hallways..the dirty lockers, floors and so forth? Honestly it wasn't horrible. How about dances we had in the commons area? I sit here thinking of those times lonnnnngg ago & reflect with fond memories of High School and the people that have touched our lives. Some have gone and done amazing things beyond our thoughts and some have done exactly what they set out to do. I wish everyone the very best in 2009 and look forward to seeing everyone during the reunion. I do work for Coca Cola Enterprises so I'll see what I can do about refreshments for the event. Take care everyone and ttyl soon!

Thanks Brenda and Lainie for getting this website up and running with information and thanks to Marlowe, too, for being the first to post what you remember! To be honest, I've been checking out this website for a few weeks (looking for the reunion date...?) and I just noticed the message forum section of this website.

I loved Mrs. Zimney's class (Becky Palmiscino, Jeff Grinde, Brenda McMenamy, Kris Hill, Danika ?)...many other's, I know. I can't, for the life of me, remember taking a science class (could that be possible?). I'm also having a hard time remembering what I did for lunch every day...? -I do remember once, Kris McGurran (Orr) and I were in my k-car driving in a blizzard over the Demers Bridge (probably to Hardees) and my car turned exactly sideways and kept going the same direction, right over the bridge and then just straightened out. Kris and I thought it was the end. I'm sure she remembers that just as vividly as I do.

I remember always being in a big group. I also remember always being crammed into a car. I have great memories of driving all over GF in Danika Warner's Chevette (was that 10th grade? -do you remember our route?)-hilarious.

We seemed to gather a lot for many occasions. I remember camping at Turtle River (w/ a lot of class of '88 people) but some from our class too. I remember how much fun it was to go to games, parties, restaurants. -I have a great picture of Todd Markus at Happy Joe's looking in the window at the pizza makers- I gave my camera to the pizza guy and he took it of Todd looking in -it's so funny to me. I'll have to pull out my photo albums/yearbook and think of more. I remember taking a LOT of pictures. That's good; My memory is so bad and this is only our 20th reunion! Perhaps more memories to come...

When is the reunion?

Hi, Traci,
We are looking at July 17 & 18, but we are still working on booking a couple of places. We will post them as soon as we get them.
Thanks, Becky Palmiscno-Brundin

Thanks Tra for showing me this message forum page. Becky, were you thinking of having the dinner at Sander's? Kim Holmes said he needed 6 months notice and to just give him a call if that's what we wanted to do for our reunion. I could call him if you want. Let me know. Wow, thinking back about high school...Tra, do you remember driving past the police station on the way to school and thinking the red stop light was just a suggestion? I can't believe we didn't get a ticket...ever! Brenda, I remember spinning in my car...it was my little orange Pinto and it was a piece! I'm surprised we made it anywhere alive. The Red Pepper always comes to mind when I think of high school, either at lunch or after all the games. And trying to find a parking spot and having to move my car in between classes so I didn't get a ticket...it never worked, I always got a ticket. I remember Spanish class with Ms. Beach(Senora Playa)and Tonia Obie and I (a.k.a. Pilar and Olga)always getting in trouble for talking too much. There are so many things to remember and my memory is a bit foggy on most of it, but I know I had a great time.

Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one who did a 360 by the DeMers overpass. I don't even remember who was with me in my little brown Plymouth Champ- probably Becky Kingsbury or Kym (Hills) Enlow. All I remember is being scared ----less! I guess we were all a little inexperienced at driving.
I do remember all the construction going on while we were at Central. I remember a guy's leg coming through the ceiling in Geometry class-don't even remember who the teacher was.

Has anyone contacted Central to see if we can maybe go take a look and check out how everything has changed? Hasn't Central been in a constant state of construction for 20 years?

I have alot of good memories at central, one of them was moving from valley to central. With all the construction going on and all the upper classmen and not knowing were to go, scary. But two of the best things i took from central, was all of u as my friends and being able to call myself a "REDSKIN" forever!!!!! thanks again for all the memories see u at the reunion

Anyone know what happened to the video that we made as Seniors. It was to be shown at our reunions. I missed our ten so I don't if it was shown.

Does anyone know which hotel they are staying at the weekend of our reunion?? I thought it would be fun to stay where a bunch of people are staying. I know that rooms have been blocked at CanadInn and Holiday Inn..So please post when you have an idea...

Thanks and I cant wait to see everyone!!!

This must be a joke. Does the planning committee really want to have this be there 20 yr class reunion??

Friday evening July 17 will be at Whitey's Back Bar.

What, was Pizza Hut closed that night? Don't get me wrong I like Whiteys, but is that the best they could do for a 20 yr class reunion? Come on people, a class reunion is supposed to be a big event, not a beer fest at the local bar which you rival school is also going to be at on the same night. At least Red River rented the basement.

Saturday 12:00 noon, July 18, University Park

Sounds like a backwoods BBQ potluck. Bring or pay for your own food? Sounds like what I did for senior skip day. What the plan if it rains that day? Go to McDonalds and "party"

Saturday, July 18, 8:00 pm, Applebee’s Restaurant

So let me get this straight. The restaurant does not know how many are coming, so the whole class will be scattered throughout the restaurant. Does anyone know what RSVP is? What part of this sounds like an event to you?

In short this sounds like the planning committee put it together haphazardly with no pride or dignity. Sounds like what you and I do any given weekend.

If this is the way the planning committee wants to represent our school then count me out. What's the dress code barefoot, coveralls and a tube tops?

I am thankful to the people who have tried to figure out what most people will want to do for our 20th. To tell you the truth, hanging out and mingling sounds much more comfortable to me than dressing up and sitting with six people at dinner. Not to mention, I cannot wait for Red Pepper and would not have room for dinner because I'll have an IV of grinder all afternoon both days!

At first I was bummed that we wouldn't have a catered dinner with a dance, but if the point of a reunion is to see friends, why does it matter what we do? Someone did say that Red River was having a drinks and art walk and although that sounds nice, I can surely do that in Minneapolis, Chicago, or wherever else for that matter.

Reunions are about reconnecting and if six people decided to make it happen, sent out surveys, and decided that more people would attend the way it has been organized, then so be it. Thank you to those who have spent time on the reunion; I look forward to relaxing and laughing!

I personally think that everyone who has put in the hours of work and planning should be complimented and not torn down. You will never make everyone happy no matter what you do and this committee has obviously tried very hard to do that task.

It is about seeing people again, not what we do and where we go. I know as a generational Central graduate that past decades haven't gone to great extravagance either but joined together for fun. In fact they have met at The Pavilion at Maple Lake for drinks and dancing and that's about as "backwoods" as you'll get - LOL.

Thank you to the committe for making this a fun, relaxing, stress free, don't have to worry about airs, celebration! And pardon my spelling!

I was at the 10 year reunion and the 20 year sounds so relaxed and refreshing. Kudos to the planning committee. If it weren't for you there would be no reunion.

Plus after Whiteys and Applebees, downtown Grand Forks has nice hangout spots as well.

We will all have a great time. Again, thank you for the nice job your doing putting this together.
