Let’s see, I left Grayslake in Dec 1988 and moved to San Diego, CA. I married my husband Kai in May of 1990. I had my son in 1991 and my daughter in 1993. Kai and I have been married for almost 19 years now, of which I have mostly been a stay at home mom. We lived in San Diego for 8 years and have lived in Jacksonville, FL for the last 12 years. We recently retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. It was not an easy 20 years but we survived. We built our home 5 years ago and have somehow managed to fill it to the brim. For the last 5 1/2 years I have been working for Convergys Corporation as a recruiter, not an easy job by any means, long hours, tons of hard work, and very little reward, but I love it. We love Jacksonville, FL, even with all of its crazy weather (tropical storms/hurricanes, who can keep up) and even crazier people. The beaches are great, the water is just right for jet skiing, everyone is friendly and always willing to help, food is okay - nothing can ever compare to Pats Pizza or a good ole Chicago Hotdog - but in general we love living in the South and have no plans to leave. Our city is finally becoming known as one of the largest cities in the US. It has been great to watch it grow and become more and more popular. We even got American Idol to hold auditions here this year. Our football team rocks - Go Jacksonville. I am a huge animal lover – currently own 6 dogs, 3 cats, 2 rats, 2 guinea pigs and 1 chinchilla with plenty of room for more. I am getting myself ready to watch my son graduate from High School in May '09. I don't know how our parents made it through. Who ever knew beening a parent would be so hard.
