I always remember Kemp at some basketball function held in the Dudley High School gym before we were in high school. I think maybe it was during the time that many of us were riding the bus everyday to Bluford Elementary in 5th or 6th grade. Kemp hit a really impressive number of foul shots one after another with machine-like consistency. I remember hearing the phrase "bad things happen to good people" during medical training, and Kemp's medical problems were certainly a prime example.
