Bart was another one of my neighborhood buddies. We would frequent the roller skating rink as often as our "allowances" would take us. Bart was a good friend and I'll always treasure those special times.
I don't remember if Bart was at Lindley in 9th grade or not. He could have been there part of the year so I included him in the classmates section. My memory is a little fuzzy but I seem to recall that he died at a fairly young age.
I'm pretty sure that Bart was at Lindley all three years... I ran into him in the mid-80's. He was working at the Exxon gas station that used to be at the corner of Elam & Walker across from the laundromat. He drove the tow truck. He was a pretty nice guy, although he & I didn't really 'hang out' together. I'm really sorry to hear he passed so young.
Bart Fields was a great kid who was close with Mike Strong, I believe. I also believe he passed in '77. If memory serves, a bunch of us went to the service. He was the first friend I lost.
