After graduation from Page, I went to ECU from 78-80 and then returned to Greensboro to work.
I married Brenda Frazer in 1986 and we have three children. Brenda worked as an Assistant Director on the mother/baby unit at Women's Hospital up until 2005, when she was diagnosed with MS and had to resign her job. Brenda became a stay at home mom, and has been there for us all over the years.
My oldest son, Bruce is a graduate of ECU and then went back to school at Guilford College to acquire his teaching license. He is continuing the family business as an Environmental Science educator in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Our middle child, Joe is a an sous chef in Charlotte , NC and seems to found his calling cooking for others. He has always enjoyed playing about in the kitchen.
Jeane is our youngest and graduated from UNCG in the spring of 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education. Another teacher to carry on what my mom started at UNCG over 70 years ago. After teaching the 3rd grade during Covid, Jeane has now gone back to school and is working as a pharmacy technician in Greensboro. Jeane has also graced our family with our first grandchild, a little girl named, Kynlee, who at the age of three keeps me running.
I enrolled at Guilford College during the spring of 2002 and graduated with dual degrees in Education and Psychology in May of 2005. I then went to graduate school at Elon University and receive a MEd in Gifted Education in 2010.
I started work with GCS teaching 4th/5th grade at Erwin Montessori in the fall of 2005. Then in 2006, I had the opportunity to move to Brown Summit Middle School and teach sixth grade language arts (Mr. Bryant would be proud). Some people think I am truly nuts, but I feel that this is one of the most important ages to work with students.
I am now in my eighteenth year as an educator and some of my students have found this page. They get a few laughs at my picture.
