BARRY MORGAN OBITUARY

GREENSBORO Barry Barthe Morgan, 69, a resident of Greensboro, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017. Barry was born in New Orleans, the son of Granville Bruce "G.B." Morgan and Ruth Wynn Morgan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was of the Methodist faith. Barry was employed for 30 years with Piedmont Natural Gas before retiring. He loved playing golf, cooking and was an avid marksman and a member of the NRA. He was a big Disney fan and enjoyed himself drawing Disney characters and other art work. Barry was loved by many friends, family and neighbors. He was married to Patti McCandless Morgan, who preceded him in death on February 21, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bruce Morgan and Bradley Morgan. Barry is survived by his daughter, Dana M. McCallum and husband David of Myrtle Beach, SC; step-daughter, Kelly Browning of Greensboro; step-son, Shawn Freeman and wife Angie of Jamestown; sister, Becky M. Kendricks and husband Jimmy of Greensboro; brother, Bryan Morgan and wife Mary Jane of Henry County, VA; grandchildren, Kenzie, Derrick and Danica McCallun and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. Interment with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:30 p.m. until service time.
