Edward "Wayne" Lilly was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on July 28, 1948. He passed away one day after his 31st birthday on July 29, 1979 in Marshall, Texas. He served in the US Army in Vietnam as a Spec 4. He is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in his hometown of Greensboro, NC.
