If I remember correctly, Joey won a Dodge Charger in a contest, took it to Myrtle Beach after graduation and wrecked. He died in that wreck, but I don't know the details. So sad.
Joey was a really nice guy. He and Robert LeClair were best buddies; when you saw one, you saw the other. They really LOVED cars. I remember thinking at the time how sad it must be for Bobby to lose his friend.
I am not 100% sure, but I am going to contradict Janice. I remember hearing his parents drove that Charger for several years after Joey's death. I heard he was returning from Forsythe Tech at night, went to sleep flipped his Dad's car (not the charger) on I-40.
I think of Joey often , he was a really nice guy. We lost a good man then.

Joey was one of the nicest guys in high school. A lot of fun to be around. We lost him way too soon along with some other classmates.
