Howard Truett Phillips, 59 of Morganton, N.C. died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C.
He was the son of the late Howard H. Phillips and Euline Collins Phillips
A Memorial Services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, August 27, 2008 in the Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Inurnment will be private at St. Marks Episcopal Church.
Mr. Phillips was a retired Pastry Chef, previously with the Gaston Country Club.
Survivors: Uncles, Aunts and many Cousins 
Officiating Clergy: Pastor John Stanley
Memorials: St. Marks Episcopal Church 258 West Franklin Blvd. Gastonia, N.C. 28052

Truett was a sweet soul. I remember him from Peck School, I think he was in my class in the 2nd or 3rd grade. He had food allergies and got upset when he couldn't eat cupcakes brought in for birthday parties. I was surprised to see he became a chef. I hope he had a happy life, he was such a nice person.
