Sarah Milliken

I've been fortunate to have had such an interesting an varied career. After graduation from Ole Miss (where I was a member of ZTA sorority) I was hired as a Dietary Technician for Pine Bluff Hospital in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where we lived.

In 1971 I moved to Denison, TX to work for Texas Power & Light Co. as their Home Service Advisor. In 1972 I moved to Little Rock, AR where I worked for Hancock Fabrics and was a model for a boat company (right along side Miss Arkansas 1970).


In 1974 I was offered a position in Tulsa, OK as a custom decorator with the J.C. Penny Co. I've been in OK ever since.

From 1975-2001 I was the Administative Assistant for an Architect in Tulsa who specialized in designing schools. A wonderful job but In 2001 I decided to retire and now spend my time sewing, working on genealogy projects, and am the Historian for the Capt Peter Ankeny Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

And of course I spend as much time as possible with my grandbabies. Adalyn lives 30 minutes away so we see each other lots!!!

Some of my memories of GHS are: Spanish class trip to Monterrey, Mexico, trips on the bus to out of town football games, dances at the armory, representing GHS in the BI State and State platform speech contests and receiving a "Superior" in the expression category for my interpretation of REBECCA.
