Lynn,
We are all so emotionally scarred from the beehive hairdos, that we must block them from our collective memories.Plus, you are all so beautiful that not even those dos could hide that fact.

Yes, we are emotionally scarred!!!!The high school basketball picture was the other picture that I was trying to upload to Tommy's profile. Glad yours worked. I have one of the Y football pictures but another team. Can't get it to come out clear either. This is so much fun!!!!

Nancy, Jane, Debra, Martha, just posted some new photos in my profile pics. I wish I had a Chi back then, would have slept better. Also I found the 50th birthday pics at Joe's and Chris's, will send them to Jane for the reunion. Can't wait to see everybody, my trips to Greenville or few and far between.

Mary, Please tell me that me, Martha and Jane did NOT
wear those orange juice can rollers on our Florida road trip!! I do remember that we took the station wagon and I was packing a pistol under the drivers seat!

Lynn & Tommy, I did not realize how much your grandson James looks like Tommy until I saw that YMCA picture!

Debra -- I will never forget that trip as long as I live. What great fun we had. I can't believe our parents let us go by ourselves. What do you think we were going to do with that pistol? I don't think I will let Avery and Greer do that. See you next week.

We definitely are gorgeous from that range, huh? Not a wrinkle on our collective faces:)
BTW, Hello to all my fellow band people. Haven't even gotten to 'speak' to y'all. MP

Nancy and Debra,
When was that Florida trip? Nancy did you see the photos from yesterday that you asked about and did you see the ones taken 10 years apart. You looked great in both.

Just posted the best picture of Doug Dunn and Mary Frances Signa from Spring 1971.

George, The Florida trip was the summer of 1970, if I recall! We had just finished our freshman year of college.

I have just returned from Scott's funeral service. It was very beautiful and sweet...just like Scott. The priest read the scripture about Jesus casting out the man's demons. (Matthew 8 I think.) He then told us that everyone had told him about Scott and his heart of gold and his many demons. He then assured us that the part of Scott God has taken to heaven is pure and good. No more demons. Thanks be to God.
The service ended with the blues song "Take me home to Ruleville".......beautiful. Scott's ashes will be buried there.

I had a nice visit with Clainy, Fred Barnes, Anne Kossman, Betty Burke, Moyse, Mike Cauldfield, Buzz Hammond, Jeff Hairston, Larry Kaplan and Toose(as Coach Arendale would say in study hall...Bill Ab Bee Doe)
Love to you all.

Jobana,

Thanks for the post about Scott's service. I really I wish I could have been there.

I fondly recall being involved in go-kart racing around the perimenter of Scott's home, when we were too young for that sort of thing--perhaps it was actually Hank doing the driving.

I also have great memories, from circa 6th grade, when some of us went with Scott down to the lake bank where his family's business had these large sand and gravel piles that we would run and leap around on.

The frist time I spent the night at Scott's house (again, circa 6th grade), I went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. I poured what looked like water from a bottle in the refrigerator, then gagged when it turned out to be cod liver oil.

I heard that Jane Rule got a really nice award in Greenville last week, just a day or two before Scott's death.

Vic (posting from Mo Ranch Conference Center near beautiful Hunt, Texas)

P.S. - Where are these pictures that everyone keeps talking about?

Thank you Jobanna for the post about Scott's funeral. I, too, wish that I could have been there. I laughed when you mentioned "Toose"...not a lot of people would know who you were talking about. I really would like to see Abdo. Remember Bill would be walking through Strazi's and suddenly fall out on the hood of somebody's car or point at them (girls) and say, "Don't you eva die!!!You to fine!" Crazy! Fred Barnes, gosh I haven't seen him in years. Where is Miss Karla now? Moyse is coming to the reunion isn't she? I haven't heard.

George...The pictures finally showed up and they are wonderful. I love you and the hat. Where was the picture frame picture taken? The ones of you, me and McGraw are great...28yrs, 38yrs and I bet we could find a 48yr somewhere. I am leaving for home tomorrow and will be back through Friday if there is anything you need.
Debra...I think we went to Florida the summer of '70. I worked in Dallas the summer of '69 and my hair wasn't that short after graduation. Where were we all piled up on that bed with roller? In New Orleans? See ya next week.

Jobana, thanks for writing about Scott's funeral. I have thought about him often over the past few days. Growing up he was always in my backyard or vice versa. I had a huge crush on him in the 3rd grade...think it was the first crush I ever had! I found my diary from back then and his was on nearly every page. On one page I simply wrote "I LOVE SCOTT BURDINE" in very large letters with tons of exclamation marks! He never knew this, and I would have enjoyed telling him now at our age. I pray that his soul is at peace, and my prayers remain with his family at this time.

Thanks for the kind words you wrote me--I feel the same way--can't help but wonder how things would have played out otherwise.

Looks like everyone is getting rain. I am a Weather Chanel girl. Allan once asked her sister Julia why she watched the Weather Chanel all the time. The answer was "because I am a farmer's wife". We have gotten six inches so far. We have baby beans under water so my son and husband are not at my lunch table. I have time to post when I would normally be setting the table. The good thing is that we can have left overs tonight. "Fried chicken a most delightful bird." Who do we know who sings that song?
I love a Sunday nap when it is raining.

Jobana,
Funny but I am a W. C. girl too. (Should anyone travel or is a tornado comin'?) Once my mother was
gone, I became her..not a bad thing to be:)

Is it Eden Brent (written I believe by Jimmy Phillips)?

I love the weather channel too. But I don't like it when Jim Cantori shows up in town during hurricane season. If you see him you either need to leave or hunker down! I'm stuck at the hospital operating and delivering babies. I would love some fried chicken. I've got the " All I've got to eat is a dried up biscuit and soggy bacon blues"
